Damn so it is true, they send out rejections/ defferred admissions first

Submitted RD 11/29; updated to "In Committee" today. Maybe this means I'll hear back sometime before April/May. Really wish I had known about EA earlier on.

Had my status change yesterday to "Hold for 2nd review" Fail ! I was actually counting on Santa Clara and now I'm kind of discouarged. I want to call them and find out if I will still recieve a decision by the end of the year because I did apply ED! or if I'm deffered to regular admissions. Does anyone know what's the difference between defferred to regular cycle and held for 2nd review?

I live on the east coast and I just wanna call them but because of the time difference I obviously cant.

yeah I don't think any acceptances have been sent out. I really don't understand what is going on. Soooo they put people on hold for 2nd review and reject people from EA - what exactly was the point of applying EA then? Last year at this time they had already acceptances!
