I have been waiting since 11/18. I am currently an undergrad at W&M, however, and I know several people who have and haven't gotten decisions from the school.

If anyone has any questions of Williamsburg and the College in general, ask away. I'll comment upon what I know from my 4 years here.

How have u enjoyed Williamsburg? Is there enough to do on the weekends to keep you busy or is it pretty slow?

Let me preface this by saying I grew up in South Florida

I am mixed about Williamsburg. I consider it a 2nd home, and it really is a good place full of nice people. The W&M community is extremely friendly and low pressure. you can leave your computer or belongings anywhere and know that they will be there when you come back. The weather is pretty good, except for the rain.

Everything you will need you can find in Williamsburg (aka the Burg), except you 100% need a car (be warned, parking can be a pain in the ass). Because it is a major tourist area, you have a ton of options for dining and shopping. There's supermarkets and retail stores like Target, Wal Mart, Best buy, etc. that are within driving distance. Near the school it is very touristy and a bit expensive. The best restaurant near the school is Aroma's (coffee shop with awesome food & deserts). Wawa is open 24 hours and used to be the only late night option until Pita Pit recently opened. We also finally got a Subway near campus. Pierce's BBQ (not near campus) is really good too. The law school is also near Colonial Williamsburg which is extremely nice, and you can get into CW for free. It's funny going around town seeing people dressed in colonial garb all the time. W&M sporting events are also free for students.

To really answer your question, it depends on the person. I personally find Williamsburg (sarcastically called Thrilliamsburg) extremely boring for an undergraduate experience. I actually have taken law courses at W&M and know many law students who share a similar sentiment. You will find many people that love it, though; it certainly has its own charm. There are a few bars, called "delis," near campus. They are the Green Leafe, Paul's, College. All of them really suck in my opinion. The only saving grace of any of them is the Leafe's good beer selection. There is also (horrible) karaoke at the Hospitaly House (Ho House) on Friday. Basically, your entertainment options are going to be very, very limited. Busch Gardens (definitely check out student day) and Water Country are also in Williamsburg.

A saving grace is how close the school is to VA Beach, Norfolk, Newport News (aka Badnewz), & Richmond. There are a ton of great concerts in Va Beach, the Norva, and the National. Jamestown, Yorktown, and Jamestown beach are also close by.

If you want a tough school with a good education that will likely land you a job in the DC area, go to WM. I don't know anybody that ever chose to go to W&M based on what to do around the school (History buffs will be at home, however). In my opinion, it would be wise to accept that the next 3 years will just be a lot of work (as it will at any law school) and not much fun (in Williamsburg).

I would have to disagree with the last post. A current student at W&M law, I have yet to be bored by Williamsburg.

In terms of dining, as the previous poster mentioned, literally every food chain is located here, and they're all pretty much located on the same stretch (Richmond Road). You honestly have your choice of food when it comes to dining out.

In regards to the social scene, Williamsburg is split more or less into two distinct living spheres. One of them is the Newtown area, which is just under a ten minute drive from campus. That area is a residential and commercial center where all you need is within walking distance. Movie theaters, bars, restaurants, food shopping, pretty legit. The homes in this area tend to be very modern town houses and apartments.

The area closer to campus is considered Williamsburg downtown. Personally, I prefer the downtown area to Newtown, only because its a bit more rustic than the flashier Newtown. Downtown there are five older bars with two brand new ones being built as I write this. They should be up and running in no time. Presently, the bar where most law students hang out is Paul's Deli, which really has an older feel to it and is a fixture of William and Mary student life.

If you're not into the bar scene, there is always stuff going on at the Main Campus, which all students are invited to attend. All students are invited to attend various concerts (so far that I know of this year we have had Third Eye Blind as well as Big Sean come and perform) and athletic events. Moreover, intramural sports are a big draw for law students and represent a great chance to get away from the stress which accompanies school. And if one of these options doesn't work for you, I know people who just have friends over their place to unwind after a long week. Regardless of what you're into, I have found Williamsburg to be a blast. Sure, its not NYC, but it is a beautiful campus with a quaint town where fun is what you make of it.

If anyone has any questions feel free to PM me and I'll get back as soon as I can.

See: different strokes for different folks. It all depends on what you want out of Williamsburg. It isn't a bad place- I love Williamsburg. However, I find it a bit boring (as an undergrad).

Just toured on Tuesday, trying to negotiate money before I accept, but it looks like W&M for me next year (barring huge scholarships elsewhere)

Well, according to last year's stats on LSN, the last major group of acceptances came around the end of this week, with a massive barrage of dings/WLs emerging between 13 and 15 March.... starting to feel (very) nervous.

I e-mailed yesterday and they said they should have the info posted on the myWM account by the beginning of next week at the earliest.

I don't think so, students can't access their myWM account until after the deposit is received.

May 1, 2012: Seat deposit of $500 is due. After your seat deposit is received, you can access your myWM account.

We're acceptances simultaneously status check and email? Or will I be checking status daily!?!? Applied deadline with Feb LSAT

I got my e-mail before my status checker changed. But I've read that others had their status checker change before they got an e-mail and I believe someone even received their admission packet before an e-mail was sent.

Keep on obsessively checking your status checker if you so wish :) Good luck!
