That helps! Thanks! Nothing yet, but maybe soon since the status did change today. If you look at LSN, I'm right below the line of green that is forming, so I'm hoping they are just moving that south a bit.DonnaDraper wrote:It is slightly hidden. The lack of a W&M acceptance is really stressing me out.UnamSanctam wrote:+1Cornelius wrote:You're killing me W&M.

Accepted!!! Yes my cycle starts off with an acceptance! 3.8/169. Went complete last week. Hopefully there is some scholarship info in the packet. I am starting to really consider going to W&M depending on how the rest of the cycle goes.

I would have had a stronger desire to attend if the scholarship (aka fellowship) didn't require me to work in their library/administration offices for 8 hours a week. Seems like a strange stip. Also I had a pretty high GPA stip as well and I'm a little worried about the possibility of section stacking. Will likely be withdrawing after Thanksgiving. Good luck everyone!grtbooks91 wrote:As someone else who just got in (first acceptance this cycle) how do the rest of you who have been admitted feel about W&M? Do you see yourself ending up there or is your heart basically set somewhere else?

I hear you on this. W&M was a safety for me, and though I know ill probably be in the library a lot anyway, it doesn't mean I want to sit behind the desk.Hopefully2012 wrote:

Besides, I feel like it doesn't have the job-getting clout of some other peer schools...thoughts on this? I think they'd have to throw me a few more bones to go there over their peers.

They sent employment info (very detailed, which is commendable) with their admit package, it didn't look too pretty.T00L wrote: I hear you on this. W&M was a safety for me, and though I know ill probably be in the library a lot anyway, it doesn't mean I want to sit behind the desk.

I was worried by the percentage of grads that get jobs in small firms. Much lower than Fordham or BC. Then again, 70k in southern Virgina is worth as much as 120k in NY.minnbills wrote:They sent employment info (very detailed, which is commendable) with their admit package, it didn't look too pretty.T00L wrote: I hear you on this. Was it from the dreaded class of 2010? Because supposedly 2008 OCI was pretty bad across the boardminnbills wrote:They sent employment info (very detailed, which is commendable) with their admit package, it didn't look too pretty.T00L wrote: I hear you on this. Re: William and Mary c/o 2015 (2011-2012 Cycle)
I definitely didn't mean to be offensive. I should have clarified. I am applying to some T3 schools with much lower LSAT/GPA medians, so William and Mary should have a group of with higher GPAs and LSAT scores, who in my opinion, would be better to study with. Hopefully that doesn't sound arrogant, it's just a point I've started considering with weighing my options.EMZE wrote:I am sure you didn't mean it as such, but the way you phrased all that is borderline offensive.skirkland wrote: I'm beginning to place more value on going through the law school experience with a group of capable peers, a group which might very well be of inferior quality at many of the lower ranked schools. We will be discussing the law and helping each other through the process, and it would be nice to be among people who can enhance the experience and contribute to the learning process.
Or maybe I am just being sensitive about being among the not yet accepted bourgeoisie.

Just got my W&M packet in the mail. I'm pretty okay with the working in the library bit, and I'm glad they are offering me some money. I'm not ready to commit at all (considering that I have an ED in elsewhere) but if worse comes to worse it'll make moving to Williamsburg a little less harsh not having to pay sticker.

No harm no foul, I understand your point and it is valid in its meaning. I also don't believe you meant it this way, but I just personally don't like the idea that people with lower number are inferior or not able to contribute to my learning process. We all know exceptionally gifted and smart people with a low gpa or LSAT for whatever reason who unfortunately won't get a shot at HYS, as well as those who will attend those schools that will sooner or later fail miserably in law because they lack the ability to communicate well.skirkland wrote:I definitely didn't mean to be offensive. But again, this is coming from the guy still lacking an admit.

Congrats! I'm assuming there will be scholarship info for you. I got my scholarship information with the initial acceptance letter via USPS 2 day envelope.6thbackstreetboy wrote:Accepted!!! Just got my acceptance packet in mail today! Did not expect any scholarship at all but was shocked to see one! Curious to know what impact OOS vs. having residency has on schollys. Is one more likely to receive greater $$ than the other?

Not really. Most oos get a tuition waiver for 10k and if they get other money it's similar by numbers in state or oos.Schang1 wrote:Just got my acceptance packet in mail today! 169/median gpa for me. About a 2/3 ride. I feel like you'll be able to get money via negotiating later in the cycle.Leighmak wrote:For those of you who received scholarships, what were your stats? I had been really hoping my 4.0 GPA would grant me something, but I guess the 164 LSAT did me in. No scholarships for me in my admit packet.

169/below 25th GPA for me. I'm OOS and got $8000 per year.Leighmak wrote:For those of you who received scholarships, what were your stats? I had been really hoping my 4.0 GPA would grant me something, but I guess the 164 LSAT did me in. No scholarships for me in my admit packet.
