At least we should know for certain in a couple days in the mail. I did notice that an Admitted Students link appeared on their website today, so I think that is a good indicator they have indeed released decisions.

Having followed this closely, it really seems like everyone who has seen their status or mailings or whatever with the word "congratulations" or "admit packet" should feel comfortable knowing they have been admitted. I forgot who, but a few posts back someone even called and said they were told its good news.

Fret not.

LOL - I noticed that also. I even tried my status checker username and password, but no luck. I guess the login info will come with the admit package.

I hope there's a present inside - Duke sends a lanyard, Michigan sends a USB drive. I'd love something nice with 'W&M' on it :D

I didn't know schools gave acceptance gifts. I hope I get enough acceptance gifts to offset 1100 in applications

Same. I tried the ASW with my status checker info and the temporary password they send in the first email

Maybe they'll send you some $$ with your admission package. I hope they include scholarship info with these packets. I'm surprised you didn't get more fee waivers with a 167.

Actually, I did get a good number of fee waivers, to W&M included. It's just that, in the midst of this whole application process, I've become a compulsive gambler and cannot stop myself from clicking submit on applications to schools that I have a .0032% chance of being accepted to.

Blanket the T-14? Hah, I blankted tier 1. And for the record I started out planning to apply to like, 4 schools.

I understand how that goes. I'm using a lot of self control right now not to add a couple more safeties or targets. I ended up sending out 13 lucky apps.

I kind of feel like I should apply to W&M as a back-up, or for $$$, but I'm really worried about how transportable the degree is . . :S Thoughts?

Unless you want to work in the Virginia/DC area, do not go to WM.

I posted earlier about this based on a friends perspective who is currently in attendance. Tennisking88 is right that Virginia/DC are the places that W&M primarily places in, but I think those hoping to gain employment outside of the region can also be successful so long as their grades are good. W&M has a pretty big alumni base, and I know of some out where I live (CO). As a safety school it is a pretty good choice, especially if you DO want to work in that area. It is probably one of the best schools that you will find outside of the T14.

And like I said earlier, if anyone has any solid contradictory evidence to this, please let me and for that matter everyone else tracking this thread know.

Oh, and Michelle Bachman got her LL.M. there. If the tea party is your thing, you've found your home.

The Postman should be here any minute!!! I ordered it from Netflix--I love post-apocalyptic Kevin Costner movies. On a side note, when the postman delivers my movie, maybe he will also have my acceptance package.

YES; they were mailed. I already called the admissions office. It is legit, they were mailed, if you saw it you were accepted. :D

Just checked the mail, and nothing. But I live pretty far away and I think it would take 3 days minimum. If they did send them on the 2nd, as the message suggests, maybe some of the applicants near VA will be getting their's today.

OOOH. They were mailed for sure? Awesome. I live within a few hours. If they were actually mailed on the 2nd, it's conceivable I could get it today. I'm pretty close. Of course, if they didn't get put in the university mail until yesterday and then to the real post office today, it could be Monday or something even for close people.
