This is the most likely scenario.

As someone else who just got in (first acceptance this cycle) how do the rest of you who have been admitted feel about W&M? Do you see yourself ending up there or is your heart basically set somewhere else?

Re: William and Mary c/o 2015 (2011-2012 Cycle)
Here is my theory for those of us with great numbers that still have not heard back yet:
W&M is waiting to decide on our files until after 15 December. The reason for this is they think, because of our numbers, we have probably applied ED somewhere and admitting us prior to the ED decision notification would almost assuredly result in us saying "Thanks, but no thanks" and hurting their yield. However, once a week or so after 15 December rolls around and we haven't withdrawn, full rides will be coming our way.
Probably not, but it's a nice thought.

The more I learn, the more I am growing warm to the idea. I initially applied on a fee waiver thinking that it would be nice to see what would happen. I never anticipated a scholarship.grtbooks91 wrote:As someone else who just got in (first acceptance this cycle) how do the rest of you who have been admitted feel about W&M? I have applied at a lot of lower ranked schools thinking that a free ride was the only way to go to law school right now with the job market what it is, but my feelings are changing. William and Mary is looking to be worth the extra money.
I'm beginning to place more value on going through the law school experience with a group of capable peers, a group which might very well be of inferior quality at many of the lower ranked schools. We will be discussing the law and helping each other through the process, and it would be nice to be among people who can enhance the experience and contribute to the learning process.
If I had to choose right now with the information I have, I would pick William and Mary. I have 8 applications still pending and I have not received scholarship information from any other schools, so it's really too soon to tell.
Tl;dr: I'm about 75% sure at this point

I am sure you didn't mean it as such, but the way you phrased all that is borderline offensive.skirkland wrote: I'm beginning to place more value on going through the law school experience with a group of capable peers, a group which might very well be of inferior quality at many of the lower ranked schools. Or maybe I am just being sensitive about being among the not yet accepted bourgeoisie.

For your purposes, maybe (your numbers were pretty damn good)... Mine are just about average of what keeps getting accepted / maybe slightly above (unless me listing all 16 schools I applied to on my app was a mistake.... lol)ScrabbleChamp wrote:Here is my theory for those of us with great numbers that still have not heard back yet:

Anyways no chance in HELL of me and a full ride, I wouldn't worry if I were you at all, there's no chance you'd get rejected. I'm in the category of probably should be accepted but possibility I won't so I'm not liking this lol

It could be worse - you could be among the not-yet-accepted proletariat.EMZE wrote:I am sure you didn't mean it as such, but the way you phrased all that is borderline offensive.skirkland wrote: I'm beginning to place more value on going through the law school experience with a group of capable peers, a group which might very well be of inferior quality at many of the lower ranked schools. On a serious note: I'm with you about that being borderline offensive. Even at the lower tier 1 schools you're going to come across a good number of very intelligent people.
I would be more concerned about attitude: are the students highly competitive and just out for good grades, or are they there to learn first and foremost? This seems to vary a bit from school to school, and I've heard good things about W&M.

Kind of on this topic, where exactly would you classify WM in the tier 1? I've seen the rankings obviously, and I know this is a broad question, but it seems fairly top-notch to me. There seems to be a major prestige factor (although not as high as the T14's obviously).

When it asked what schools I'm applying to I was honest as I feel one should be on an application / in a professional setting... if that hurts me than so be itDonnaDraper wrote:ThreeRivers wrote:unless me listing all 16 schools I applied to on my app was a mistake.... lol)

I'm probably over analyzing but how would I defend that if C&F notices that I didn't list schools that I applied to before I W&M, even beyond that I just feel it is right, but I understand those who say it was a dumb move
