Went complete either late October or early November.elgringobandito wrote:you received the call today? When did you go complete?poe wrote:In! Got the phone call (but, sadly, no mention of scholarship money).
I was accepted last week with no scholarship offer either I thought for sure I would get something since someone with my exact stats got 60kpoe wrote:In! Got the phone call (but, sadly, no mention of scholarship money).
Yeah, someone with lower stats than mine got $97k (and several others got $75k), so I'm pretty surprised to end up with nothing. Maybe they just sometimes forget to mention it in the phone call?msblaw89 wrote:I was accepted last week with no scholarship offer either I thought for sure I would get something since someone with my exact stats got 60kpoe wrote:In! I was also thinking that since I'm not needs based that might be a factorpoe wrote:Yeah, someone with lower stats than mine got $97k (and several others got $75k), so I'm pretty surprised to end up with nothing. I got a phone call and the acceptance letter the next day in the mail. Do not know if that is the only way they do it.smoneill88 wrote:do they only accept by phone call this early on? or do they also accept by email as their email states when you apply? i applied ED and they said the'd have a decision 'by the end of december', so i'm on the edge of my seat and want to know what to expect.
Yeah, scholarship amounts seem to be somewhat of an enigma this year. I've been a bit confused at some of the offers I've received. I have a sneaking suspicion a lot of places are going to be scrambling this Spring to avoid a UIUC situation and perhaps UCLA is one of them...msblaw89 wrote:I don't understand how I got money from Texas, but not UCLA... especially since the COL is at least twice as expensive
What do you mean by a UIUC situation? I tried search but couldn't figure it out.mijenks wrote:Yeah, scholarship amounts seem to be somewhat of an enigma this year. New development listed here, but paragraph 4 is the real problem:fakehunter wrote:What do you mean by a UIUC situation? I don't understand what UCLA is/was doing that was like UIUC that would affect scholarship offers?mijenks wrote:Yeah, scholarship amounts seem to be somewhat of an enigma this year. What I mean is they end up scrambling in the Spring to try to make their medians. By UIUC situation, I meant median falling 5 points rather than fudged number cover-up exposed.msblaw89 wrote:I don't understand what UCLA is/was doing that was like UIUC that would affect scholarship offers?mijenks wrote:Yeah, scholarship amounts seem to be somewhat of an enigma this year. I'll be joining you in there it looks like (also complete 10/28). But again, it has only been a month and a half. We could both be sitting in the pile of some slow reviewer.curiousgeorgia wrote:I have a battle with myself every day as to whether or not I should call them and ask what is going on with my app (complete 10/28, no word yet) but I know no good can come of it.
I feel like so may people with my complete date/ones after it have already been accepted, that silence from UCLA means I'm headed right for the WL
I feel like we're having very similar cycles (and ensuing neuroses).curiousgeorgia wrote:I have a battle with myself every day as to whether or not I should call them and ask what is going on with my app (complete 10/28, no word yet) but I know no good can come of it.

I feel you on that one. VERY close to my experienceAdm.Doppleganger wrote:I went complete September 23 and still have not heard anything. I've got decent numbers for them but my gpa is low and I know they hate that. Still its gotten me into Michigan and Georgetown so far. I just have no idea of what to make of UCLA's admissions process.
+2 for low GPA, MI, and Georgetown. C'mon, UCLA!T00L wrote:I feel you on that one. VERY close to my experienceAdm.Doppleganger wrote:I went complete September 23 and still have not heard anything.
