Mail man just drove by my block. This guy must feel me watching him. I may go out there and hurry him up a bit. I doubt the letter will be here today, but Gainesville to Miami is possible in a day.

You guys could all probably just call the admissions office and ask if it's an admit or ding. The decision's already made, so you have nothing to lose.

I thought every applicant receives that status? I'm pretty sure auto-rejects/admits get the update too. I've been stuck on FRNDR Island since 1/24, which isn't even a long time by UF standards.benburns214 wrote:Everyone who isnt an automatic Reject or Admit is given that same status... welcome to the club, it sucks in hereTobacco Road wrote:Status changed to File Reviewed, No Decision Reached. Oh ok, thank you both for the information. Even this late in the cycle I'm not used to how this stuff works.

You'd be surprised how much of a consideration "yield protection" is to these adcomms with ranking fetishes. LOCI can whittle the borderline candidates into those who are much more willing to accept offers, and those that may be less likely to accept.FreeLolita wrote:This.genius5432 wrote:Are you guys serious? Exactly how much of an impact a LOCI has is up to debate, I think it probably isn't a deal maker, but it does provide some sort of edge.

My one and only fear about U. of F is from Character and Fitness, since it said we had to disclose anything that resulted in fines over $200 or $300 - in New Jersey, when you get a ticket for speeding or something, you can knock down the points and plead to a lesser charge (Unsafe Operation of a Motor Vehicle) and pay a fine of $450 and $550 for your first two times. Therefore, I actually had to check "Yes" to the C&F and submit documents. I know paying $1,000 to my local municipal department isn't enough to be unfit for the Bar, but COME ON Florida!
If my speeding 54 in a 40 at the age of 17 and hitting that parked car at 20 are cause for alarm....I'll be disappointed.

It's a non-issue. Civil traffic issues aren't going to keep you out of any law school anywhere.KibblesnBitts wrote:My one and only fear about U. of F is from Character and Fitness, since it said we had to disclose anything that resulted in fines over $200 or $300 - in New Jersey, when you get a ticket for speeding or something, you can knock down the points and plead to a lesser charge (Unsafe Operation of a Motor Vehicle) and pay a fine of $450 and $550 for your first two times. I had a $400 dollar ticket on my UF application for exceeding the speed limit by 19 mph. If your numbers are solid, they won't care. Everyone has speeding tickets.KibblesnBitts wrote:My one and only fear about U. of F is from Character and Fitness, since it said we had to disclose anything that resulted in fines over $200 or $300 - in New Jersey, when you get a ticket for speeding or something, you can knock down the points and plead to a lesser charge (Unsafe Operation of a Motor Vehicle) and pay a fine of $450 and $550 for your first two times. I'd like to know this as well, although I'm torn about whether I should even try. UF gave me $9,000/year, my stats are 168/3.07, decent softs (lots of WE and a master's), choosing between UF and WUSTL with $$. Advice? I don't want to look ungrateful...beezy08 wrote:Has anyone successfully negotiated $$ with UF?
