The student panel during admitted students day was brutally honest (in a good way) and I was a bit surprised the school chose people who weren't just there to blow rainbows and butterflies up our asses.

WUSTL's employment figures are pretty transparent with the exception of a lack of breakdown based on firm size like some other higher ranked schools do. Comparing them to each other WUSTL is better in basically every way but if you want to work in the Mid-Atlantic you might as well go to school in the area.

I was pleasantly surprised when visiting WUSTL to find that the person working at the front desk in the admissions office was NOT a recent graduate... I am under the impression that WUSTL doesn't do the whole short term (9 mo.) hiring of recent graduates business (at least on a significant level, c.f. above link). Anyone know more about this?

Congrats!

Did you just notified or did you get in off the wait list?

notified for the first time. I had submitted a while ago, hadn't heard. I was wondering why I hadn't been waitlisted but maybe they were waiting for the APril 1 deposits.

About 10% of the graduating class ends up working in some sort of non-permanent JD required or preferred position but I highly doubt that a substantial part of those are funded by the law school. I'm guessing those are more along the lines of temporary doc review for people who didn't get anything out of school. Just under 5% end up pursuing a FT grad degree too and that figure almost surely includes some school funded Tax LLMs. So it looks like worst case you are looking at 10% employed by the school.

Everyone be sure to join the facebook group here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/342498309130835/

I created a FB page for the WUSTL class of 2015, but now realize that a "group" will be better (FB illiterate). Will be deleting the "page" tomorrow.

Has anyone heard anything either way about the Webster Scholarship? I saw notifications would be sent either way in "the middle of the month."

Has anyone heard back regarding scholarship negotiations?

I submitted mine in February and despite several status inquiries over the last 2 months, nada....looking like I'll be asking for a refund of my deposit soon. I don't think it should take that long :?

Took them several days to say they forwarded the letter to the appropriate person and about a month toemail me about an increase.

It took them 4 days to give me an answer. Maybe you should call?

What was your answer? I emailed them and they said they would send it for review, and then emailed again and they said I would know shortly, and that was a week ago. Do they send it by snail mail?

I got notified yesterday of a slight increase in my scholarship as a result of negotiation and I submitted the request sometime last week. If it has been longer than that for you I would try something different, but maybe I just made a really compelling case? :P

Either way it was a slight increase so if you are holding out expecting them to up it by like 10k a year, I wouldn't get too excited.

Really??? Do you know their numbers? And what are yours? I know it's not always just about the numbers, I'm a non-trad (old guy in my mid 30s) so it could hurt or help me depends. I'm 164. 3.75.

161, 3.95 and 162, 3.87 respectively

You are above last years GPA median and pretty close to the 75th so I'd feel optimistic about it if I were you. Write a good LOCI if you haven't already and plead your case.

Should be a lot of movement soon for people on the waitlist.

Tomorrow is the last day to request a refund of the seat deposit and drop your class seat. I will be doing that later today. Best of luck to everyone hoping to get in still! WUSTL is a great school and their ASD was pretty freaking awesome!
