I withdrew :( I'm a bit sad, but happy to stay in Florida. This frees up a spot and $20,000/yr.

Given that they have a refundable fee waiver I think there are probably a mountain of people who deposit at WUSTL and ultimately pull that deposit before May 1st. As of now it wouldn't surprise me at all if they were over-admitted but that should change by May.

My WL letter stated they were anticipating taking people from it this cycle. We just have to wait for all the people getting into the t14 to withdraw, I guess. Then some of us will be lucky enough to feed on their leftovers. :D

What annoys me is that I have to put a serious hold on all of my law school/life plans just on the faintest of possibilities I could get in off the wait list... The sooner those T14 hopefuls withdraw, the better. C'est la vie.

In the mean time, I think I will catch up on some shows since nothing seems to be going on at work now that they know I am leaving soon.

Yeah, I'm not sure about deposits, etc., with others schools. What I really hate is the "non-refundable" deposit. On one hand, I want to give Wash U all the time they need. On the other, I want to push them a little. Whatever, it's not in our control anyway. I'm hanging on till they let me know.

Still, it is killer to have to wait it out, possibly deep into summer....

Trust me. We feel exactly the same about the HYS hopefuls. And the HS hopefuls are all waiting on Y. In the realm of law school applicants (acceptance mongers), no one is ever satisfied.*

*Slightly exaggerated, of course.

Wow, that is literally what I've been catching up on... can you use your obvious talent of clairvoyance to see if I will get into WUSTL or not?

Heh, I would love to be given the opportunity to withdraw, but with 4 applications still pending and acceptances essentially out at this point... I am basically hoping for WLs at NYU/Mich/Penn which I would then have to ride probably into the summer. Basically I would love to give someone else my spot but... It looks like I'll probably be stuck with it :P

I get that, it's not the people, it's the system. Yield protecting and all the crap schools pull wouldn't be causing problems if they required applications to be sent in earlier and they made their damn decisions final and sooner. It basically starts with Yale and goes on down the line, so my trusty mediocre LSAT-backed logic tells me it's all Yale's fault.

I was waitlisted yesterday as well. I had gotten the Valentine's Day fee waiver and took a couple weeks to decide to apply so I think they figured (correctly) that I wasn't serious about attending.

I was simply rejected, but yeah, WUSTL wasn't on my list until the fee waiver. I wouldn't say I applied to all the schools that offered a waiver, but I did apply to the good ones.

Long time lurker.

I am 99% certain I will be at WashU in the fall. I am from the area, and plan on living with 2 CPA friends, so I can't wait! Looking forward to meeting you all!

Shot in the dark...

Does anyone have any knowledge on fin-aid for people who get in off the wait list? Understandably, it would not be too much, but sticker?

Thanks.

That link just further confuses me on fin-aid office practices. One applicant had a 165/3.68 and the other had 163/3.98. The difference? The former was offered $60K while the latter got smut at $7K. With UG being equal and only a 2 point LSAT difference, I'd give the latter guy more money...

So, IF I'm taken off the wl and IF I'm given scholly $, it could range from the absolutely useless level to a more legit offer.

And I have no control over either being admitted or getting decent money, yet I still flake out over it? Yes.. I do. :P

For WUSTL, LSAT >>> GPA from what I understand.

For scholarships, i'm not sure this is true. Using LSN, people with 167 LSAT & 3.7+ GPAs are almost universally getting six digits, while 170 & 3.6s are getting $80-90,000. More than anything, it looks like WUSTL wants to guarantee itself medians of 3.7 and 167. As for the two examples quoted, there could be some factor we are missing (supporting a family, military experience or other good softs, etc.). Both based on LSN and my personal experience, i'd strongly encourage people to not be deterred by the idea that "everything"is based on LSAT score at WUSTL.

No one is really saying the LSAT is everything (100%), just that WUSTL weighs the LSAT more heavily than GPA.

There are very few schools that do it the other way around. also, many of them use a calculation to combine both into a raw score.
