Wow, thanks for all the replies.

I'm on my second "complete" date then... judging by the above graph, I will probably be a waitlist candidate. If so, I intend to sweat it out till they realize I am a good fit!

I'll keep my fingers crossed; Wash U. is my #1 choice from a practical position. I also applied to Columbia and UM, but they will most likely pass on me.

Thanks!

Would be interested in this as well. None of the ASDs worked with my schedule, so I will be visiting next week.

1) look for a professor in a field you're interested in, try to set up a meeting. One of the best parts of ASW for me was meeting a prof at lunch who worked for 9 years in exactly the job I want.
2) Try to connect with current students through facebook, TLS, or just through sitting in the law school courtyard and striking up conversations. Current students were one of the best sources of information.

In terms of wustl/st louis is general (all of this is based off my UG experience there, not ASW)
1) Tour AB hall (the law school)
2) Go through the Danforth University Center, which is the student center and is beautiful!
3) Obviously, walk around the quad, which is gorgeous (the buildings on the quad are the original 1904 world's fair buildings that housed the crown jewels
4) I would drive or walk around the surrounding neighborhoods to get a better idea of housing. Lots of what you see online will point you to U city, but I never liked that area for living-- too loud, too undergrad-y. I lived in clayton- go past big bend on Forsyth, and look around that area for quieter apartment/duplex living in a beautiful neighborhood for cheap. Go the other direction and drive down skinker away from Delmar to see more luxury buildings
5) Forest Park!! The art museum is the big thing there, but I'll recommend the history museum- I'm admittedly biased because I used to work there, but it's really a wonderful museum and the standard exhibits are free.
6) Check out the delmar loop- a big student area, it has lots of restaurants and bars.
7) Drive out to the hill for good Italian food

I hope that helps!

Is your LSAT over 163? You got a great GPA, so if they want to keep their 75% high, might get a shot with a 163+

Officially all set for ASD on the 30th. Got a great room right next to the Arch via Hotwire too which sweetens the deal. Pretty excited.

75 a night...it's the first one listed on there. 4 stars.

WTF? Hate I don't know what hotel it would give me. I'd rather spend about the same and get one closer to the CWE, and have free parking. Plan on just sleeping in my room for the one night and that's it, so don't need anything special. Only staying for about 36 hours in St. Louis, and guessing most of that is will entail the ASD

Also updated to 3/14. Holding out hope for either WUSTL or ND, otherwise I'll probably end up going to UIUC.

I thought I would post the relevant articles for understanding the drop in ranking for WUSTL. I found the explanation and position of WUSTL via their website confusing until I found some context (and wanted sources rather than to rely on current students on TLS solely).

Article about the new information to be reported by law schools:
http://www.abajournal.com/news/article/ ... op+Stories

Article from U.S. News (yesterday) about employment data and stating that next year they will use the more transparent data required from the ABA:
http://www.usnews.com/education/blogs/c ... -jobs-data

Statement from WUSTL about the ranking drop:
http://law.wustl.edu/usnewsbackground/

Dean Kent D. Syverud is serving as chair elect of the Council of the ABA’s Section on Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar (http://law.wustl.edu/faculty/pages.aspx?id=1665) and thus was instrumental in promulgating the new rules. It seems that he wanted WUSTL to be one of the (the only?) to report under the new rules.

Thanks for this. I knew that WUSTL is using the new guidelines, but didn't realize why (beyond the "wanting to to do the right thing blah blah" answer) and I also didn't know that US News had officially announced that they'd switch to the new guidelines next year.

As a result, let me be the first to say:
in before next year when people are freaking out about how much Wash U jumps in the rankings compared to similar schools.
