Quick question: Does anybody know if the Webster Society Scholarship is decided or if that comes out later?

I applied for it as well and did a search on here to see when they were announced. It seems that last year, it wasn't until early April.

If it isn't decided until after the first deposit is due and that factors into your decision, do you just make the first deposit anyway?

I'm not sure why they do it this way, but thats the way they do it.

I know, it just feels dishonest to say I am coming if it really depends on the scholarship- and depending on other factors it may.

I doubt they look at it like that. It is probably just used as a better guestimate to see where their medians are at to see if they need to offer money/acceptances to people off their wait list.

WUSTL wouldn't allow it if they weren't into helping their prospectives making the best choice possible for them. At least, thats what they said when I visited "We refund the deposit because we we're not trying to take money from or obligate people who really don't want to come here, even though they want to keep the option open."

Eh, I wouldn't have any qualms retracting the first deposit. April 1st is really early for that (some decisions and scholarships may not even be in by then). That said, after today there's about a 90% chance I'll be in St. Louis in August.

Same, coming home will be nice. I am looking forward to April when my cycle is coming to an end and I can start looking for a place

i seriously think its a matter of time. the only thing holding it back at this point is STL is not doing great and WUSTL doesn't have a singular, large feeder market

Checking in with the scholarship offer as well: $129K total ($43k per year). Congratulations to all the other scholarship recipients!

Also, I will probably still be withdrawing so those of you who want more, NEGOTIATE, since they will definitely have at least $129K extra lying around.
