Good luck to all. Tagging early. I was accepted for class of 2014, but deferred a year. Looking forward to meeting everybody in Bloomington next year.

I'm also on a deferral from the last cycle, can't wait to start. Good luck to everyone applying this year!

Has anyone else applied for a fee waiver yet? I sent an email asking for one but haven't heard anything. I remember last year it took them around a week, so still holding out.

Apps open tomorrow!

Sent a request yesterday. GPA in mid 3s and 17X LSAT. No response yet.

I'd like to send in an app here but I doubt I'll be able to if the fee isn't waived.

I tried to solicit one in early August and was sent the following response.
Indiana Law Admissions wrote: Fee waivers for next year are not available until sometime in November or
December, which is also when the applications will be online. We will
keep this email and send out a fee waiver via email as soon as it is
possible.

I think this person may have been mistaken because the application is available now but her response implies that it should not be available until November/December. No follow up message with a fee waiver yet.

They seem to be pretty generous with the fee waivers - I got one last year with a 3.1/164. Apps are definitely up now, so they must have just given you bad information. I think it just takes them a week or so to send them out, hopefully it will be soon!

Early August. They might have let the requests stockpile and are just now sorting through them. Hold tight for yours!

So for the mandatory residency affidavit that we have to print, fill out and attach... how are you guys doing this since LSAC doesn't allow pdf attachments and a majority of scanners out there only scan to pdf.... I tried to OCR it into docx but it's completely screwed up.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I'm thinking about just writing a quick blurb on word saying "it's in the mail" and just mail it to them... it'd be easier for everyone if we found a way to attach it though.

I printed it, filled it out, and then scanned it. I then dragged the PDF file into a MS Word document. It shows up as a picture. I expanded the picture to take up the full screen and then uploaded it into LSAC. It may look blurry in the MS Word document but mine showed up clear in the application preview.

Thank you, sir.

What are people thinking will be the $120K cut-off this year? Will they push it up to 168 or stay around 166/167? Planning to get in the 170's just to be safe, so hopefully they are as generous this year...

Submitted app on the 15th with a 167/3.6. Lol hopefully they remain as generous as last year.

I received a username and password via email today to check my Application Status but the message didn't include a link and I can't find a link on the website. Is anyone else having this problem?

Is there a status checker this year??? That would be great...

Received my fee waiver today. Probably will wait until after Saturday to finish my app.

Brilliant! I've been absolutely pulling my hair out for the last several hours trying to figure out how the hell to do this. My scanner only saves to PDF, and I even bought AdobeExportPDF for 20 bucks a year to try and convert from a PDF to a word doc. Came out all messed up.

Ugh, if only I had browsed this thread sooner...woulda saved me headache and money.

Anyone doing a Why Indiana essay? I'm can't decide whether to do an entirely separate paper or just put a paragraph at the end of my PS... have to submit before Oct. scores come out!

I have not heard anybody suggest that doing a Why Indiana essay would help. Looking at LSN (and hearing anecdotally), it seems very much a numbers-driven decision. I don't see any evidence of IUB engaging in yield-protecting those with super-high numbers, and I don't see any evidence of them grabbing students that are below both medians (with the exception of some URM boosts) that might suggest they look deeply into soft factors/essays/etc. Any outlier rejects on LSN look like they can be attributed pretty easily to post-January application date.

That being said, if you have time and think you can put together a good essay and it will give you peace of mind, then I say go for it.

App complete, waiting to submit until I see my Oct. score, debating whether or not to ED. suspense!
