You can pretty much look at a hold as a waitlist. It's possible to get in, but they've already said no once, so it'd make sense to not get your hopes up too high.

has anyone been waitlisted yet? or do they generally defer you before adding you to a waitlist?

I was put on hold with that email as well, wrote them a brief LOCI but not holding my breath, although I'd love to go to gtown.

I am not really considering applying but on the plus side... at least you do not have a ton of other applications you need to work on right now!
I don't think either of you should apply for PILS (gives me a better chance!). Seriously, though, I also wish it had been part of the initial application because now I have to hit someone up to write me another LOR. I asked all my recommenders to write two LOR's initially (one general and one for Stanford), so now I'll need to ask someone for a third!

Part of the email says:
At your request we have attached the username and password you may use to access the Admitted Students Website (http://www.law.georgetown.edu/admissions/admitted/):

Not sure what this means? Would I still receive this email if I was not in?
I was able to get it to work. Did you click on "no password?" ?
Yea, after clicking "no password," I received the email with a username and password.
Maybe I'm not in; I'm just surprised that it would send me a username and password if that were the case.
I got my 4th status update today so I tried this. I was sent a username and password, but it wouldn't log me in.
Username and Password still do not work....been trying everyday since Monday.

Is it expected to write a LOCI when your decision has been postponed?

Searched through the topic, didn't really find the answer I was looking for. It's been two weeks since my interview request, should I wait to contact Georgetown after this weekend? Or should I shoot them a quick email today?

I had the same thing happen to me when I was waiting after the interview request. Personally, I decided to wait until the the end of the third week to call them since the email stated it could be several weeks. They then said that happened a lot and they would send a reminder to my interviewer and rematch me if they didn't get a response. After that, I had my interview two weeks later. So there was a lot of waiting, but they seemed happy I gave them a few weeks before contacting them so, from my experience, I think it would be best to wait until after the weekend.

Just got the interview email today...whats the consensus on what it means? Read over some of the responses in this thread, looks like it could be a while to get the interview done. Should I even bother with it since they say it doesn't impact admissions? I just want to get a decision haha

Though GTown will say otherwise, "heavily recommended" really means it's not going to look good for you to reject an interview request, ESPECIALLY if you have no built in excuse like "oh, i can't go all the way to GTown" when they have alums all over the country. I'd do it y'know? Leave no stone unturned.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
