--ImageRemoved--

Application Timeline (for previous cycle, but I think we can more-or-less rely on this information for this cycle as well. Will update when the new information comes out): http://www.law.georgetown.edu/admission ... rocess.htm
  • October 1, 2010 - First day JD Regular and Early Decision* applications accepted for Fall 2011
  • November 1, 2010 - Transfer/Visiting students deadline for Spring 2011
  • February 1, 2011 - Public Interest Law Scholars (PILS) deadline; Global Law Scholars (GLS) deadline; First day Early Assurance Applications will be accepted for Fall 2011
  • March 1, 2011 - First-year JD application deadline; Early Decision deadline*
  • March 15, 2011 - Early Action transfer deadline for Fall 2011
  • April 1, 2011 - Early Assurance deadline (Georgetown Juniors only) for Fall 2011
Application Checklist:
  • Application for Admission
  • Application Fee ($85)
  • CAS/Transcripts
  • LSAT
  • Personal Statement
  • Resume
  • Recommendation(s) - Georgetown Law requires only one letter of recommendation or evaluation to apply to the JD program, although additional letters or evaluations will be accepted.
Early Decision
The Early Decision process is designed for those who have already researched their law school options and are certain that Georgetown Law is their first choice of schools. This process allows such applicants a means of expressing to the Admissions Committee their commitment to attend Georgetown, if admitted. Any candidate for whom receipt of institutional financial aid is a prerequisite for enrolling should apply under the Regular Action process (see below for details), rather than Early Decision. Early Decision applications are given priority review in our rolling admissions process.

As a Syracuse fan, fuck the Hoyas. As somebody who kinda wants to be a lobbyist, GULC sounds good.

Never noticed this before, but georgetown says it averages LSAT scores.

I hadn't ever heard this on TLS before, is it a new thing? or is it BS? or am I just out of the loop?

Some schools says they average, but they won't if you give them a good reason not to in an addendum or if your score jump is significant.

I have two scores and my second one is 6 points higher than my first, but I have no good reason for it. Anyone know if I should write an addendum? I mean, I just studied more and was a bit more prepared and ready the second time around...

Nah, I would say you don't need to. If the only reason is that you studied more, not worth it. I think they will take your higher score.

I asked for one and got it the same day. Which is good cause I haven't received a single unsolicited waiver, even with a 171.

FWIW, i don't think Georgetown really averages multiple lsats (even though the official JD FAQ says otherwise).

How are multiple LSAT scores addressed? For reporting purposes, Georgetown Law adheres to the ABA policy of reporting the higher LSAT score. For evaluation purposes, the Georgetown Admissions Committee typically averages LSAT scores. Georgetown may consider the higher LSAT score if you have only taken the LSAT twice. Please address any mitigating circumstances you feel the Admissions Committee should consider.

but FWIW, i don't think they really average.
yeah, they probably don't. GULC loves them some numbahs

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
