Got an email invitation this morning to a "group interview" at GULC in a couple weeks. Anyone else in the DC area gonna go?

Didn't get that email. But that sounds horrific. I hate group interviews.ringo wrote:Got an email invitation this morning to a "group interview" at GULC in a couple weeks. Anyone else in the DC area gonna go?

+1 on not getting the email and on a group interview sounding horrible. Though at least it's something. Ringo, what kind of application are you? Regular decision?freestallion wrote:Didn't get that email. But that sounds horrific. A buddy of mine went, and said it was a really cool experience. I'm kinda miffed I haven't heard from them (maybe they think I'm an autoadmit with my numbers )

Also got an interview request, though declining will apparently not hurt my chances?

Had an interview last cycle. Interviewer told me it was basically that they try and interview borderline/splitter candidates. If you are invited to do an alum interview I would def. do it. It was pretty relaxed, I was real nervous and he saw that and told me at the end to relax more in future interviews. I'm pretty sure that as long as you look and sound presentable you're fine. FWIW im at GULC this year.
Edit: The quicker you set up your interview, the quicker you will have a response. I had my acceptance before Thanksgiving. Some interviewers took forever to get back to people, luckily mine got right back to me and set it up for 2 weeks later.

Do you remember at all the kind of questions they ask? The typical stuff or tricky stuff?
ETA: Just did some research and it appears that Georgetown has actually published statistics in the past that indicate around 80% of those that do interviews are either admitted or put on the priority waitlist.

Pretty sure priority WL means you're near the top of the list when they start admitting WL candidates.Nice. But assuming this is accurate, wtf is a priority waitlist? I don't wanna be on any waitlist.

If I didn't get an interview request, does that mean they hate me?

Ahh, same. My status hasn't changed since the 12th, and I've gotten no news since then either. I have started bracing myself for rejection.No13baby wrote:If I didn't get an interview request, does that mean they hate me?

No, I think it just means you're either an auto-admit, auto-reject or auto-yield protect.No13baby wrote:If I didn't get an interview request, does that mean they hate me?

Anyone write a Why GULC essay? I'd like to, but there is no place in the app to attach one.

I usually don't post, but I wanted to let y'all know that I got an acceptance letter from Georgetown in the mail today (DC resident, 3.9/169). Soooo good luck to the rest of you, and here's to hoping your envelopes come soon!
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
