To those who wrote an LOCI, how long did all of you wait before sending in one?
I applied late Nov, got about a couple of updates, group interview mid-Dec, but my status is still on 12/1... I am getting worried... :(

I first went complete 12/13, interviewed in mid-January and never updated so I sent an LOCI 2/8 (which was really a why Georgetown, since I hadn't originally included one in my application) just to try to get someone to look at my app. It was either a crazy coincidence or the LOCI worked because I updated for the first time the next day and then updated again 4 days later and was able to generate an asw password.

If you haven't moved since 12/1, you might consider supplementing your application with an LOCI that hopefully says more than "yup, still interested."

Right here! I sent an LOCI via email and got a personalized response saying I was "in the best possible position to be admitted should spaces become available" earlier this week but nothing since.... fingers crossed!
Haha, wow I got, verbatim, the exact same message/response when I sent mine in as well. Wondering how true that statement really is!
+1

Just got exact same message as well. Did you guys interview? I havent been asked to yet. Can we ask to interview if we are put on WL?

I don't think you'll be able to interview if you're already on the waitlist, unless anyone has had any luck requesting an interview. They offer you an interview before you receive a decision.

Yeah, no interview request for me. I sent in a LOCI right away, will probably follow up every 3-4 weeks if I don't hear, but I don't anticipate an interview :?

Do we need to wear a suit to the interview if it's at the office of the alum? How formal is it?

If it's in a professional office, wear whatever they would wear. Therefore, yes, wear a suit.

Even on dress down Friday? I was thinking more along the lines of dress pants and a sweater, but don't want to hurt my chances by not dressing appropriately

did your interviewer make a specific reference about how to dress?
Nope. The interviewer just set up the meeting time at the office

Its always better to wear a suit in a less formal setting than to dress less formally in a formal setting. Trust me, wear a suit.

Just did my interview at a starbucks-type place. If you wear a suit in that type of situation, it won't hurt you, but you'll probably look like a chotch. I actually learned a lot from my interviewer - he was young and had some good advice on financing GULC and taking advantage of the LRAP, etc. This school has steadily climbed to #1 on my list... should know within a week hopefully.

Dress like DC. Shirt and maybe a tie, and then khaki pants. Wear a light coat with that.

I showed up on casual Friday to the firm I interviewed at in a suit. My interviewer said that he should have told me to dress down, but that he appreciated that I was taking this seriously and professionally...In short, wear a suit! It can only help.

I think over-dressing never hurts.

I'm on a "special group within their preferred waiting list"... whatever that means. :/ Well shit, this doesn't bode well for the rest of the T14. Oh well.

Updated today (2/17) after updating yesterday (2/16) and having my address change ("S" to " South," etc.) .... Good sign? Should I be trying the ASW today, or wait until Monday?

actually I wouldn't necessarily look at it as a bad sign for the rest of your cycle or for Georgetown itself. It seems they use that special group as a YP tool, and quite a few people that responded with an LOCI affirming their interest in GULC got admitted. So if you know this where you want to go tell them so. And if not, don't consider it a bad omen for your other apps.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
