Applied 10/31 but my 2nd LOR just got processed by LSAC today. Status date is 11/10/2011, any idea how long its going to take them to get it under review? (Says its incomplete now).

What is going on, you should have withdrawn your application by now

Why? Maybe I'll get scholarship money. And I spent the money on the application, I might as well wait to hear a response no?

If you would actually go to Cornell over Harvard, then yeah, but otherwise...

It's your cycle at the end of the day though

Hate to be a bearer of bad news but my 2nd LOR was received on November 15th and I just went complete last night... so it might be a while.

Oh, so you're one of those petty people who horde acceptances for self-validation. Unless you would attend Cornell with $$ over Harvard, the gentlemanly thing to do is to withdraw. I plan to horde acceptances as well but I'm a douchebag and I assume most people aren't.

Well, I'm a lady, not a gentleman, and I guess a petty lady at that. It becomes kind of a game, doesn't it, seeing how many schools you get into. :)

Yup, but it can be an expensive hobby, even with fee waivers. I got up to about 25 schools, all with fee waivers, but I can only remember about 15 of what I applied to when pressed. Guess Im an asshole

Haha ok I'm not that bad, I only applied to schools I would actually consider going to. Except for BYU, which my Mormon friend forced me to apply to.

Actually, it's funny. I got an accepted students' packet via e-mail after my initial acceptance a few days ago. In the packet it says very explicitly, "WITHDRAW IF YOU AREN'T ATTENDING SO OTHERS, SOME OF WHOM ARE YOUR FRIENDS, CAN COME."

Thought that was interesting. haha.

She can use Cornell and other schools for negotiation. And it doesn't matter in the long run anyways

True dat, one of my schools I really want to attend matches scholarships with Cornell, so why the heck would anyone withdraw? They aren’t taking people off the waitlist now, anyway. IS there even a waitlist yet?

At this point in the cycle you don't want to be withdrawing, obviously. But there are people who don't update schools until the deadline, if ever, even though they know what their plans are.

I withdrew from a couple safeties this week (Iowa/IU-B) knowing that even with a full ride, I wouldn't matriculate. Did I make a premature move? :/

No, not at all. I don't think those schools would give you leverage vs the t14 in terms of negotiating. Honestly, hoping to do the same if I get good news from Cornell.
