I'm not sure why I found this so funny, but I accidentally laughed out loud (at work).cogitoergosum wrote:I'm pretty sure all of this 12/6 and 12/12 business has been a huge batch of acceptances with full-tuition scholarships.... That's probably why it's taking so long... they have all our apps in hand and they're just like, "are you sure we want to do this?" and Dean Geiger or someone else, in a grave yet auspicious manner says, "yes, I'm sure."
Good word.

Just for curiosity's sake, is there any meaning behind that time/number?

Nah, just has a nice ring to it, and accordingly, must be the time when we get our acceptances.bigeast03 wrote:cogitoergosum wrote:I do what I can.T00L wrote:I'm not sure why I found this so funny, but I accidentally laughed out loud (at work).cogitoergosum wrote:I'm pretty sure all of this 12/6 and 12/12 business has been a huge batch of acceptances with full-tuition scholarships.... Well then, let's give it some meaning too! 3 x 4 is 12, twice is 12/12. So there's that. It must be true.

I like the way you're thinking big east. Sometimes prophecy is like that, you just say it, and then other people make sense out of it.
DEFINITELY 3:42...

I take this as a sign that we are truly going mad.
I wonder if I should up my offer to two limbs? Or maybe I should go all in and promise my soul?

Well, you could always start with the limbs... ya never know, they might bite with just that, then you're left with your soul for whatever else you might need it for...minnbills wrote:I take this as a sign that we are truly going mad.

I think it is important that we pace ourselves in this endeavor... getting into law school is only half the battle. You need to have something left to bargain with at OCI. Skadden isn't just going to offer you a 2L SA because you're a nice person..bigeast03 wrote:minnbills wrote:I take this as a sign that we are truly going mad.

Not having heard from them makes me think I am being deferred, so I am going to up my offer to two limbs. If I don't hear anything by the end of the week, they can take my soul too.

3:42- 3 is of a typical religious significance. 42 is the answer to the great question of life, the universe and everything (according to Douglas Adams, a vehement atheist).
When these two are ideas are juxtaposed, the planets are aligned, and we get in to cornell... its just good science, really.

The official statement from Cornell, like just about everywhere else, is that it shows your app is moving through the admissions process. Anything much beyond that is conjecture... A bunch of us updated at 12/6, and some more today, so perhaps we'll see some more movement in the next few days.
