I'm still waiting for my recommendations to be received by LSAC. What do you think is the latest that those could be received at LSAC in order to be received by Cornell by Nov. 15th?
I'm in the same position in regards to the letter of rec I'm still waiting on. I don't know how quickly LSAC processes a letter of rec from the time they receive it (although I'm sure many people do), but I e-mailed Cornell admissions today and they said that as long as the letter was to them by "mid to late" November, it would be sufficient time to be considered early action. I assume this means they may give a little leeway with the 15th deadline by a few days.
I am wondering what the best way to schedule the whole thing is, though- is there a way to submit the application for their review without this last letter and then have it subsequently received so at least they can begin reviewing? How are you handling your situation as far as the "submitted by Nov 1st" circumstance goes?

Actually, sounds like a good thing to me. I have been in for over a month and still haven't gone under review. Good luck! Anyone else receive this email?

Wow, thanks for the info from Cornell. That makes me feel a lot better about my chances of getting my stuff in in time to be considered EA.
As far as the whole "submitted by November 1st" thing goes, I'm just hoping to get everything done on my end (especially this PS that's taking forever) by, hopefully, Sunday. The thing is, I'm not sure they can begin reviewing the file until all the letters are received. Will LSAC send even the report without both letters? What I'm thinking of doing at this point is maybe having my letters faxed over to LSAC. On their website, they say that it's not a recommended course of action (since I guess it can distort the barcode and stuff), but from other posts on this forum, it seems like a lot of people are having success getting their letters received and processed really quickly (as in within hours). So that's the option I'm considering right now. I'm hoping that that will allow LSAC to complete my file and get it to Cornell by the 15th.

Pretty sure everyone gets the "We are delighted to inform you that your application is complete and will be forwarded to the Admissions Committee for review" email. (I think that's the email lrslayer was referring to)

Received the "file complete" email. There was one other person here who claimed their status changed to "under review", so I figured this is what Irslayer was refering to. Suppose I just interpreted it wrong

yes, it says on my status page that it is under review. i got the completed email and then the under review one was a different email.
eta: this may be due to them auto rejecting me due to my low numbers

Have any October takers gotten a Cornell merit-based waiver? I believe they come in the mail.

mmm didn't get a separate UR email. I was mistaken. We probably shouldn't read too much into this stuff so early in the game.

I think you may. Most people around your numbers the last three years were Waitlisted, and a couple accepted. I think though that with the fall of applications there will be more gpa flexibility than lsat flexibility. I think you have a 50/50ish shot.

Hard to tell. Cornell is not splitter friendly, but it is URM friendly. I would guess in though. Certified NA is a big boost most places.
