Do y'all think they might be waiting for the ED admits from other schools to withdraw before doing the rest of the EAs? YP?

Possible... I mean they did say mid-December, which would allow for most of that group of people. Still... why would they have something they are not required to have if they really cared about YP?NervousNelly wrote:Do y'all think they might be waiting for the ED admits from other schools to withdraw before doing the rest of the EAs? None of us knows! Hopefully it is good news.neuroticjew wrote:I sent my app on 10/25, complete on 10/27, re-complete on 12/6. WHAT DOES IT MEAN??!!!

Re: Cornell c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Whoops, I misspoke before - I went complete around 10/30, not 11/30. So I am very much the same situation as you - sent 10/25ish, complete 10/27ish, and re-complete 12/6.neuroticjew wrote:I sent my app on 10/25, complete on 10/27, re-complete on 12/6. WHAT DOES IT MEAN??!!!
I have the same question as you - what does it mean? I have my own conjecture on the matter... there were a bunch of us who went re-complete on the sixth. Everyone else I know of who went re-complete as we did on the 6th has pretty good stats, so I feel like we're in good company, so either: a) it doesn't mean anything and we're being neurotic TLS'ers, b) it's a mixed batch of acceptances/waitlists/denials, and we can't really infer anything about our individual apps, or c) there is a batch of acceptances on its way and we're in it.
Of course, I like to think c, but who knows. Judging from years past, it looks safe to say the first two batches are all (or at least mostly) acceptances, but we've already had a couple of all acceptance batches, so I suppose anything is fair game now.

Re: Cornell c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Although, they really have issued a LOT of acceptances already, so it seems like the WL's/Dings have to be imminently forthcoming... but some of the 12/6 re-updaters have really great stats, so maybe it's a mixed batch coming out. AHH!

Mine changed late in the afternoon on the 6th and then early in the morning on the 7th. Haven't heard anything since then.msblaw89 wrote:Does the status checker normally change this early in the day ?

Re: Cornell c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Yeah, they had already rejected/WL'd people by 12/1 last year. I really think they are doing it by complete dates (since most of us 12/6ers went complete on 11/3) rather than numbers/eventual decisions.cogitoergosum wrote:Although, they really have issued a LOT of acceptances already, so it seems like the WL's/Dings have to be imminently forthcoming... but some of the 12/6 re-updaters have really great stats, so maybe it's a mixed batch coming out. Possible, but LSN shows only acceptances thus far.luxxe wrote:Yeah, they had already rejected/WL'd people by 12/1 last year. Re: Cornell c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
So it does seem that they are following the trend of past years in which they issue batches of acceptances first, followed by a mixed bag of decisions.cogitoergosum wrote:Possible, but LSN shows only acceptances thus far.luxxe wrote:Yeah, they had already rejected/WL'd people by 12/1 last year. Hahaha yea i am a fellow 11/08er. Every morning I wake up and check the TLS Cornell thread thinking that when it is time for my date to change I will know, because msblaw will announce itmsblaw89 wrote:haha! Yes ma'am. Re: Cornell c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
I don't think it's by complete dates. I was complete in September and there are sooo many people who have been accepted that went complete weeks after me.luxxe wrote:Yeah, they had already rejected/WL'd people by 12/1 last year. Edit: unless I'm getting WL/rejected.
