Hello, there. This is a semi-safety, though I'd consider it vs. UVA or Penn.

First, good luck! :D

Here's the sum total of advice I have for Cornell's application (as someone starting there in a couple weeks): APPLY EARLY. Do their non-binding Early Action and you'll probably get a decision in December; refuse, and you may be looking at April.

Does anyone else think living in Ithaca would be nice?

Checking in. Also want to point out that the picture you're using is horrendously misleading.

Potentially, yes. But I guess that's what the visit is for.

LoL, I like snowy winters, and the hiking and bike riding sounds really nice, and I think a small college town could be a good break (my UG was in an urban area). I like the sound of Cornell's labor clinic, too.

I think Ithaca might be nice, especially as a respite for anyone pursuing NYC big law.

If I wasn't a k-JD coming straight from Penn State, I'd be much more eager to go to Cornell. It's not the cold that I worry about, it's the "nice college town in the middle of bumfuck nowhere." Same issue I have with UVA. I'm ready for a city.

My top choice.

Call me crazy but I think so. This is probably because I love snow and ridiculously cold weather.

I keep telling myself I want a big city (I also went to UG in a small city of ~100k), but I think it'll be easier to remain more disciplined with regards to studying if there aren't all of the distractions of a New York, DC, LA or Chicago. So that would be a plus for me.
