Re: Cornell c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Been waiting since 1/29, but withdrew yesterday because honestly, there's no way I'd go here anymore. Even though I'd wanted to be vindictive and add one more blemish to their yield (were they to accept me), I figured my spot could possibly go to someone who actually wants it. Nonetheless, good luck to all of you today!

Re: Cornell c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
This might be a stupid question.
I was wondering if ALL applicants get 4 status date changes, or if just the applicants that have made it to the last / final round for review. More specifically is it possible to get rejected after the 2nd status update?
Just an FYI, I just had my 4th status date change today.

Received the acceptance email at 4:52 as well. Pretty presumptuous for them to require the first (unrefundable) deposit by May 4th and won't provide an extension so we can hear back about financial aid first, despite not rendering a decision until April 30th.

I'm going to come out and say it--i hate Cornell. They suck. I called at 11am and they assured me all decisions would be out. I just call them back to hear that tomorrow, May 1st is a professional development day and their office will be closed. I am so annoyed with their process and their complete lack of courtesy throughout this cycle.

If you got the same latter attached to the email as I did last week, then you'll notice it says you have until one week after financial aid notification to deposit.

Sorry. That's frustrating. I feel like people are either RAVING about Cornell's admissions process or totally BASHING it. Not sure why it's not more consistent, but don't take it personally and don't make it a reflection on the entire program.avd90 wrote:I'm going to come out and say it--i hate Cornell. They suck. That said, your profile says you're going to Harvard. Yeah? Would you take Cornell over H (you should absent serious money)? If not, why not just withdraw already?

Don't think this is true. Check what other posters have said. Looks like you already withdrew though?CommoBlue wrote:Received the acceptance email at 4:52 as well. Re: Cornell c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
I think I'm going to, I guess it just feels so annoying with Cornell being the only hold out. H just admitted me Friday, and I guess I feel like I've been waiting since 1/9 I might as well hear. But I think I will go and do just that.woeisme wrote:Sorry. That's frustrating. I feel like people are either RAVING about Cornell's admissions process or totally BASHING it. Yeah, I mean it's none of my business. Was just curious. Congrats on H.avd90 wrote: I think I'm going to, I guess it just feels so annoying with Cornell being the only hold out. Then we didn't get the same letter. Here's mine:NDIrish2012 wrote:If you got the same latter attached to the email as I did last week, then you'll notice it says you have until one week after financial aid notification to deposit.
"However, because of the late date, if you are applying for a Cornell Law School Grant aid, you will need to submit the required materials immediately. If you have received awards from other schools that you would like us to consider you also should send copies to us immediately. We will not be able to extend our deposit deadline to accommodate delays in submission of financial aid and application materials."
zero mention of any ability to extend the deadline in the "financial aid" section or the "seat deposit" section.
Lamesies.

Re: Cornell c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Well that is interesting. My letter didn't read anything like that. That blows, how can they expect you to make a deposit before knowing about financial aid? And the 'late date' is 100% their fault.CommoBlue wrote:Then we didn't get the same letter.
