Yeah wtf was that? Were you just totally careless about your app or did you send in a PS for Columbia?

Don't you think it's a little unfair to assume that JamMasterJ didn't send in quality materials just because he didn't get in via PT? Admissions is not an exact science. Maybe he just ran into the one adcomm who wasn't in love with his application and he got placed on the reserve list as a result. I'm sure it's happened (and will happen) to people with higher numbers than his at Duke and at other peer schools. That said, his LSAT is stellar and his GPA is alright so I'm sure he'll have a fine cycle.

Oh I wasn't assuming that--I was hoping that was the case, that way he can continue to perform at or above his numbers instead of below them.

Sorry if it offended anyone. Not my intention.

lol. No, I wasn't careless, but my why Duke wasn't particularly great. I'm not assuming YP, based on the fact that someone with better numbers got in and also based on the fact that I've been in email conversation with a guy in the admissions office. So I doubt they thought I didn't give a fuck about them.

amc, don't get so worked up. No one assumed anything. It's a common joke on TLS

Duke was a safety for you anyway, but I feel your pain.

See you at Columbia ASW?

hopefully not. I ED'd to Chicago, so hopefully I'll be withdrawn from everywhere else by that point. If I get rolled, though, then definitely

Chicago ASW then--though from the reputation of their students, it might be less fun.

Eh, maybe that kid just wrote an absolute dynamite Why Duke?

I see better things in your future, I feel like this will be one of few blemishes during your cycle.

Yield Protection. I wonder, Jam, do you think the fact that you thrice took the LSAT had any effect? I ask bc it does seem so out of Duke's character to WL a strong applicant, but not one so strong that he is a shoo-in at HYSCC.

I doubt it. I think their policy is to WL a lot of splitters

I don't think PR is a WL exactly. I took it from LSN results to just mean essentially the same as Harvard's "hold." Not that you are on a WL, but that your application basically didn't receive a decision and will be re-evaluated with those that RD at a later date. I think that's why splitters get placed on it alot. From what I see from last year, most PR people get in, just later when regular decisions start coming out. I don't think its YPing. Its just they don't fit as easily into that 10 day processing guarantee as people with numbers above both medians or 75ths, so they need more time to evaluate them based on the entirety of the applications they receive.

I submitted 2 days ago, they should have my file completed no later than Nov 15. I'm right around both medians from last year

Do they get quickly back to those around the medians or just those way above their numbers?

When will i hear baacckk

guys, I wouldn't get too freaked out.

Also, thanks mumofcad. I've seen your comments in several applicants threads, and you've been one of the few sources of sanity lately.
