Anyone know more about their deferral policy? The FAQ section on their website doesn't offer much information? Is it too late to consider deferral at this point?

Formally withdrew from the Duke WL after this morning's email from Mark Hill. Hopefully that helps one of you.

if you're planning on attending in the fall, check ACES and see if the scholarship offer is on there.hermionegranger wrote:That makes me feel a lot better. I wasn't planning on accepting their loan offer, just obviously not going to turn down the scholarship offer, so I didn't read the packet as carefully as I should have. I hope you're right! But I'm slowly convincing myself that I just got 50k poorer.

it isn't. that's actually what inspired me to look carefully through the scholarship packet to find out why I was being charged full tuition.

Just found out I got in of the WL after sending an LOCI yesterday...! No mention of scholly info in the email, but they also said they were sending an acceptance package by mail. Anyone know if they normally include scholly info with this, or do they usually mention it in the email if you're getting any?

congrats! they send a scholarship application form with the acceptance package, and you have to fill it out and send it in. they get back to you within a couple weeks. however, seeing as how it's getting later in the game, they might have a faster turnaround time.westinghouse60 wrote:Just found out I got in of the WL after sending an LOCI yesterday...! Re: Duke c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
i am very excited about going to duke in the fall an have my fingers crossed for everyone on the waitlist...
however, i just found out i got into northwestern (i thought i had withdrawn from their WL but I guess not) and they gave me 75k in scholly $$....huge surprise. this is about 8k more than i got from duke. would it be in really bad taste to try and negotiate with duke using the northwestern offer? i already negotiated back in april with an offer from vandy and got more $$ from duke so i feel kind of embarrassed negotiating again. however, this is a peer school offering more and the difference could cover rent for a year. Should I try asking Duke for more and if so, how should I do it (email or a phone call to fin aid)?
thanks!

Got in on Sunday.. fin aid with money came a few minutes ago. Thought I was staying in Cali (usc), but my Duke Dream came true wanted to attend duke since I was 15 years old.
