Duke c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle) Forum

I seem to be freaking out on this thread a lot, but looking on LSN today, Duke has already accepted about 1 & 1/3 pages of applicants. Last year, they only accepted 2 & 1/3 pages of applicants all cycle (and use of LSN seems to be dropping each year). That means Duke has made the clear majority of their admissions decisions already.

Would it help to give you some rationalizations about why this is not necessarily so?

I haven't picked up an LSAT book since early October, but I could probably dust off my "The conclusion above would be most weakened if which of the following were true" cap...

It would probably add balance and perspective to the discussion, but it wouldn't stop me freaking out. I'm just waiting for the WL email now.

Dude you got a KB1. You'll get in to many great places. December and January will be good months for you.

I can't imagine a 176, 3.98 going to Duke over HYSCCN

I think Duke vs NYU should be a difficult decision for someone who wants to work in the South.

Scholarship money is a big deal for some people, and various non-trads (like me) have ties to the South that make it difficult to leave, even for only 3 years.

Congrats! Did you respond to the scholarship information form previously or did they just contact you?

Haven't filled out the form yet, they just contacted me.

When did you receive your acceptance email? Just out of curiosity.

Also, does anyone have dates on receiving the admittance package after getting the Welcome to Duke Law acceptance email? It's been a week and still nothing in the mail :/

Pretty sure almost everyone on Priority Track has been accepted so far. It's most likely good news.

It all depends on the $$$. I've been accepted to most of Duke's peer schools, so it will most likely come down to which one (if any) gives me the most scholarship money.

Yeah. I'm starting to think that maybe 12/02 was an estimate... especially since it said "Welcome Packet Sent" (past tense) on like... 11/29.

Where do you live? Mine was sent out 12/6 and I got it yesterday. It is pretty awesome, I especially enjoyed the weather tidbits, and the handwritten note was a nice touch.

I live in a major East Coast metropolitan area. Bah! Is it large or in a rigid box? My mailbox is pretty small.
