Almost all of them were given priority track (PT) status by Duke, which means Duke provides a decision within 10 after an application is complete. So they generally applied 10-12 days before the decision.
There aren't many non-priority-track applicants here, and only a few have got decisions. I believe the non-PTers with decisions applied very early (September and early October).

Thanks for the reply! I applied Oct. 24 so I guess I won't hear back for a few more weeks.

I'm a double major and will be finishing my first degree in May but will have to taken summer classes to finish the second degree. When the application asks "Date Degree Awarded", should I put the date my first degree is awarded (May 2012), or the date I'll be done with undergrad classes altogether (July 2012)?

got an e-mail from duke this morning saying my welcome packet is being mailed today, but could take weeks to get to china. they e-mailed me a few of the documents, and actually took the time to scan my acceptance letter so i could see the handwritten note on it
LSAC wouldn't let me include chinese characters in my address, so let's see if this thing can make it to china before i move back to the states in july...

Hi, I am in Shanghai. Well, my experience of international mails tells me that it could take from two weeks to three months...

Well, last year I wrote my address in English for ETS to send me the GRE score. And it took forever. I got the email about the score being sent in July and it did not reach me until late October.

Do you guys know if we have to send the scholarship application by snail mail? It doesn't look like there is a way to do it electronically...

It says at the bottom of the form that you can send, email, or fax it. I assume you have to print/scan if you want to email the form.

Just got an email saying I'm on the Priority Reserve List (which I'm guessing is basically the waitlist?).
173/3.8+ URM
Maybe I should have written the optional essay.

Bummer. Well, on the bright side, you should be in for a great cycle with those numbers! And like other posters have said, lots of the priority reserve candidates end up getting in with LOCIs. So don't fret too much. Good luck!

+1 - I'd be willing to bet that a well-written LOCI will get you in for sure.
