In essence, I may be speaking as a panelist for an interdisciplinary conference at Harvard in April on a topic that relates directly to my PS. Should I let Berkeley know about this? I know people say that LOCI's should be saved for when you're waitlisted, and also that Berkeley doesn't really factor them in at all, but this feels like more of an update to my resume/PS than anything else. What should I do?
Oh, and I suppose it's relevant to know that I'm still UR 12/12, no FR, dodging the ding (so far!). I only found out about this opportunity today and am hoping that I don't get dinged before I can tell them about it!

That's definitely a plus, but I'd say it's not LOCI-worthy on its own though. Maybe in combination to other things as a more general update? FWIW, last cycle I sent an update in Feb/March for several things related to my job, including a promotion, organizing and speaking at a couple of conferences and launching a new research project, oh, and a higher LSAT score.
Having said that, I tend to think that there's no harm in sending more information. I mean, Dean T in his interview for TLS did say to "throw in the kitchen sink," so...
EMZE wrote:kitchen sink eh.. since the window was so short for FR, and with just 10 days left til decisions... did any one send anything new in to Berk? I have a 5th LOR I might just email for shits and giggles. Nothing too new, just different perspective from a more senior boss that qualifies better some of my work stuff than my other recommenders did. Its also just plain well written, by a fellow at the UN

Looks more like NYU now. I should also mention that the admits with lower stats tend to pop up later in the cycle
