THIS. We must be twins, curiousgeorgia. Thankful that Berkeley finally decided to process my application. Now if they could just get to accepting us already... 8)

Seriously. I can feel more at ease about East Coast schools because they tend to be very numbers-based, but Berkeley is so seemingly random with their acceptances that I literally have no idea how I will fare. Also, the LSN graph of last year's pool is frighteningly red.

Same here, I'm freaking out because for personal reasons I really want to be at Berkeley, but have no idea if they'll accept me. I actually wish it was more numbers based. Then I'd be in for sure

And you are why I have no faith that I'll get in to Berkeley.

Haha. Sorry. Though, to be fair, Berkeley is almost as much of a black box as Yale and Stanford. Nobody can really have faith they'll get in... at least that was how it looked to me in last year's thread.

Do you know who that avatar pictures? That is Bill Hicks! A fantastic comedian and political satirist who left this world far too early.

I just went to the Applicant Info Session at Cal last month. What they are basically asking is 'what do you have to offer us besides your great numbers?' It's Cal for god's sake, EVERYONE is into 'public interest' haha. Specifically they are looking to answer two questions when they review applications: 1) Will Berkeley Law be a better place if this person is accepted and 2) What will this person do to further social change?. It seems that numbers are considered AFTER these first two conditions are met. So yeah.....BLACK BOX lol

Hey guys, I totally missed the part where we were supposed to include the hours per week dedicated to each activity on our resume. I just submitted a resume without hours information. I thought I would just ignore it, but a friend told me I should submit an updated resume to the school via email. Do you think this would be a good idea??

+1 -- don't feel too great about my chances here since my softs (and my numbers, really) are.... well, soft. But would definitely like to know what others feel about this

Berkeley must hate me then, because I submitted the same day as you EMZE. But I didn't go complete until 11/10. Oy. Well, on the bright side, I guess it shouldn't be too long then.

I'm in the same boat as you, I won't even try to understand what their process is like. If any school is to have a truly random process, I'd wager that it's Berkeley...

does anyone know what the residency requirement is for Berk?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
