Hold applicant checking in here, wish I had found this thread earlier, would have made the waiting more bearable.

Every time the NU Admissions Twitter Page announces that they're sending out more decisions that day, I sit in front of my email all day </3

Congratulations! Your GPA is pretty sick I'm not surprised you were accepted!

I'm a heavy splitter ...but hoping I HEAR BACK soon. If I don't get into NU this year I'm just gonna re-apply ED next fall since I'm just finishing up undergrad right now

hahaha, i love it! honestly the only thing holding me back from depositing now is financial aid! I have a pretty big scholly offer that would be hard to turn down right now. But oh Northwestern

I applied last October, did a hold interview, sent two LOCIs and two essays, and am STILL waiting.

Alas, I don't think I'd go at sticker, but I just want to know either way!

Oh, just got the fin aid email:

At this point of the year, we have already awarded all of our scholarships. At Northwestern Law, all awards were determined by examining both merit and need-based factors so we do not have separate pools of funding for need-only or merit-only awards. It is extremely unlikely that additional funds will become available; consequently, your financial aid application will be used for loan eligibility determinations only.

Right now I've deposited at UCLA with a 38k per year scholly that I can't possibly pass up for sticker at NU!!

this makes me so sad

I still don't understand why I was held. Apparently the difference between being held and admitted and being straight admitted is paying sticker. This is truly bittersweet. I love NW but what a sad acceptance lol

Nooooo ): UCLA is a great school though, that is freaking awesome. I'd be pretty damn torn if UCLA offered me that much even with my current NU scholly.

It is! and i'm excited! I just emailed to ask since I'm international and dont qualify for any loans anyway what I can do and they said they have my information and I should be hearing back soon, but I highly doubt it. What a sad end indeed haha.

Don't take their statement at face value- I would attempt negotiation anyway.
