What is your GPA and how much work experience do you have?

I did my undergraduate in a foreign country and my grades are evaluated as superior. My graduate GPA from a U.S. institution is almost 4. And 2 years of solid working experience in the States.....

I know a lot of people have already started planning their visits for ASW. Has NU made any more information available than the dates? I would love to go back to Chicago and see the school as an admit (the only time I've ever been to Chicago was for my Northwestern interview), but airfare is expensive and I'm reluctant to commit before I know more about the schedule of activities/possibility of reimbursement. I tried searching this thread for more information - apologies if I missed it!

I can tell you some of what went on last year (all this divided between Fri/Sat, but I can't remember which stuff was which day):

Sat in on a real class (you sign up for one of several options; I went to property)
A mock torts class with just admits (this was really fun and interesting)
Presentations on Academia/clerkships, Clinics, Public Interest. With a student, an admin, and a prof
Large presentations on Financial Aid and Employment (these were the most dull)
Fri: Small groups escorted to local lunch places by a couple current students. (Lunch wasn't provided)
Small group tours of the school and the area around campus with current student.
Fri: A ticket to the Wigmore Follies, the law revue (musical)
Student organization fair (OUTlaw, WLC, BLSA, SBA, etc.)
Sat: lunch was provided at the school, with students and faculty to talk to.
Cocktail reception at the school
Sat: Bus to a brewpub in Wrigleyville where dinner was provided (buy your own drinks)
Sat: Small group Q/A with several current students

but why? with your #'s you've got as good a chance as anyone in holding, and it cost you nothing to stay on. not that i'd be devistated that there was another space open
I'm in at NYU so I probably wouldn't have gone to Northwestern without $$, and I'm assuming getting held means that no scholarship is forthcoming. Given that I figure I should leave the hold slot to someone more likely to go. For example you deserve it for your screen name alone. :)

Not yet. I was told they extended the application deadline, so perhaps the needed to extend the decision release date as well?

AJDs.... hang in there! If anyone hears, would they please post ASAP? My status checker hasn't changed to the "decision will be released in 24h" post that I read about on TLS yesterday... Nevertheless, hopefully I will hear today!

Yeah, that's from last year. There's no mention of reimbursement (yet?) on the site this year, and to my knowledge, no one has called or emailed to ask if it still exists.

Just because it says they will reimburse up to $150 does not mean that they will. Also, be prepared for a very, very long wait for your reimbursement check. I got $75 reimbursed and it took a few months to turn around.

Hey all, random question -

I was held yesterday as well and was browsing through the archives about what to do/submit. Are CPEs something still particular to Northwestern that you can submit (--LinkRemoved--) or are they now the evalauations that LSAC seems to have picked up at large? Does anyone know if it would be advisable to submit an evaluation as well if you have already submitted several LORs?

Thanks!

IIRC, NU discontinued the evaluations this cycle.

I know :( though if it's any consolation, I think they offer some kind of student hosting option to cut down on costs...

do y'all think that would be super awk to stay with a complete stranger? I did it when I was visiting colleges back in the day but I'm not sure if it works the same for professional school, especially with the older student population at NU...or am i just being paranoid?
