^_^ yay! It's nice to know people are reading it. And the interview questions credit goes completely to Dany and Samara (possibly Rinkrat too, I don't remember), who gave me some questions they were asked during their interviews.Opie wrote:Haha! I'm happy to report that I have read the entire OP. It's pretty darn good too. I love the interview questions on there.

My favorite is "have you been to Chicago in the winter?"
I haven't, but I've lived in Des Moines most if my life so I think I'll live.

Haha, ya I come from a place with winters that like to hover around 0-10, I'm not overly concerned.Opie wrote:My favorite is "have you been to Chicago in the winter?"

Haha, I like that question too. They probably just ask people from warm-weather places. I've lived in the Midwest my whole life and they didn't ask me that question.Opie wrote:My favorite is "have you been to Chicago in the winter?"

Lol. Is there a "Splitters: How did you come to have such a shit GPA" thread? Because that would bring so many lulzy stories. One quarter I managed a W, P, and B- as my only grades. I later regretted the P because if I hadn't blown off the final paper and literally been in another (non-English speaking) country without the book/source material when it was due, I could've easily pulled an A-.crumpetsandtea wrote:We're splitters, we excel at wasting time/procrastinating on the internetz. Nice. Sadly, my splitter status was born from laziness, not lulziness.descartesb4thehorse wrote:Lol. Is there a "Splitters: How did you come to have such a shit GPA" thread? Saw this in the new school medians thread. Seems like only good news, unless the lowered WE means they're pulling in more people without WE for their numbers.

- Class shrunk by 3%, from 273 to 264 (including AJDs).
- Applicants stayed about the same.
- LSAT 25th down to 165.
- Average age is up from 25 to 26.
- W/E is way down, from 3/97/88% with 0/1/2+ years to 5/95/79%.

I'm actually curious what everyone thinks the WE %change means. As I said above I thought it might be that in order to maintain their numbers they couldn't be as strict about WE meaning it's not as much a prerequisite as it seems if apps drop. Any alternatives?

Re: NU '11-'12 Apps-Splitter Friends battle evil/rising medians
Yeah, I it's actually pretty good news. I would interpret the shrink in class size and drop of their LSAT 25th to 165 indicates a greater reliance on splitters just to maintain their medians. Class size can only shrink so much, if at all, this cycle, so if applications go down, reliance on splitters will likely only increase. Could the slightly weaker WE numbers be attributable to the economy, as in the years out from undergrad is the same, but it's harder to maintain a job during that entire time? Also keep in mind a change from 3% to 5% is like 5 students.wolfpack-avvocato wrote:This......is really not that bad of newstmon wrote:Saw this in the new school medians thread.
