I thought anti-hazing laws protected us from this kind of torture.

I was an 0352. I hope you get a positive battle damage assessment.

Still here. No DLS. Applied in October. If they get back to me Saturday (unlikely, I know) it will be exactly our 6 mon. anniversary (from completion). It would be a romantic time to get down on one knee and offer me a place in the class.

Just a few days from my six monther too. What's taking them so long? Maybe we're all actually soft waitlists and are being mulled over until our already-admitted numbers-clone accepts or declines their admission offer.

Oh man, I hope Harvard and Stanford are both waiting for some 171/3.9 to decide where she's going and whichever one she doesn't pick I get. I would love to take that person's second choice.

170/3.87 is close enough right?

A white-jacketed manservant will arrive at your house bearing a dead passenger pigeon with a wax Stanford seal stamped on its forehead?

Has anyone notice whether or not they are going chronologically through soft holds by completion date? I noticed yesterday some October applicants got DLSed. Any December/January get DLSed this week?

I don't think so. I haven't been DLSed yet, and I'm approaching 7 months without any word (mid sept submit).

I just imagined my file being all dusty stuck under a desk or radiator

Under my clone hypothesis, they were rejected because their superiors accepted and took their place.

I am beginning to think this desk/radiator theory is a good one for both S and Y.

So silent today. Reeeally hope that those of us still waiting are going to hear something before the end of the week. The uncertainty is killing me.

Every day you go without knowing in fact moves you one day closer to death.

Excuse my pessimism, but I think we might already be in the red zone. It's probably all WL's and R's from now on, if last year's schedule applies.

But then, one might ponder, what are they waiting for? Well, deciding who goes on the WL is a bit of a tough one, I'm sure. The later in the cycle we go, the more difficult the decisions for the review committee....

I'd tend to agree with you, but there are too many strong candidates still waiting (YLS-secure folks, auto-admits at HLS). Might be wishful thinking (probably is) but I like to think that means there are more acceptances to come.

They're clearly mulling us over then still. It's not as though they've got all of us pegged for DLS and haven't bothered to inform us. We're not the best candidates, nor the worst, just the most perfectly borderline.

At times I forget that I even applied to Stanford....the only school which has not said anything to me since the day I applied. I am firmly expecting a WL/reject, but if it's any consolation, I have very good stats (175+/3.8+), dunno if that means anything though. Good luck everyone.

If we've just been elected to a society e.g. Phi Beta Kappa, do you think it's worth letting admissions know with an updated resume? I haven't heard anything since late October.

Nope, don't bother unless it's something they couldn't tell from your app otherwise.

So far only 1 DLS and no calls today? This is gonna be a tough weekend. I'm reminded of Cartman waiting for the Wii to come out. But it's too warm outside to go into "suspender animation" until I get a decision. :(
