Scrolled through the first five pages and didn't find an answer.. nor on the sls website.. is there a fax number I can use for the dean's cert? Or, if I can email it, is it just their normal admissions email? Or must my deans office snail mail it?

I believe I e-mailed my dean a scanned copy of the form from the website. Then, he mailed it to Stanford.

My UG has the form ready to go, I just want to give them an expedient and reliable course of action since I trust fax/email more than the bungling hands of postman and minimum wage mail sorters at SLS

I don't know about that. You could try calling SLS directly. I never had any issue with SLS or any of the other schools with handling my documents. Everything was done really efficiently and expediently.

Haha figured as much. Just sent in a fee waiver request though so we'll see. If I dont hear back by Friday here I go dropping another 100 dollars on a long shot :)

I will post this in the admissions forum as well, but for everyone stressing about getting the Stanford dean's certification in to the admissions office, I just called and they told me fax, email, or snail mail are all appropriate. The following are how to go about each of these courses of action.

To fax, address it to "Stanford Admissions", and
send it to the fax number:
650-723-0838

-or-

To e-mail it, scan the document and send the file to
admissions@law.stanford.edu

-or-

To send it snail mail, address it to:
Stanford Law School
Attn: Admissions
Crown Quadrangle
559 Nathan Abbott Way
Stanford, CA 94305-8610

Digital correspondence is always easier.

Might be sending in an app soon, still debating if it's worth the $116 since my LSAT is at their median and I've heard Stanford is really big on softs and a tailored letter of rec. My softs are decent, but aren't related to law (more community service) and I don't have a tailored letter.

Just submitted. Stanford is definitely not a realistic school for me, but better to know for sure than spend the rest of my life wondering about the 21% odds LSP gave me.

Good luck to everyone else!

I'm interested to find out about this LinkedIn business. I received an email today from LinkedIn stating that someone had viewed my profile. I thought nothing of it until I saw what sandwiches wrote. Anyone?

Anyone know how not sending Stanford-directed LORs affects your chances?

LSP has me at "Admit" (URM) but I have it seems like the forum is putting a pretty significant influence on these little touches.

O hai, dream school.

Submitted 10/23, but my undergrad dean told me they just sent out the form today. Hoping I'll still be considered with the first round of applicants.

Good luck to all!

Re: Linked in reverse-stalking....

Go to "profile." Toward's the bottom, in the right-hand column, above "XXXX's Activity," there's an area called "Who's Viewed Your Profile?"

Pretty wild. Check it out.

I've just finished a draft of a personal statement tailored (somewhat) to Stanford. Would anyone be willing to take a look at it? I know I could post this in the personal statements section, but your specific knowledge (and admittedly different demographic) would help massively. Send me a PM if you're keen.

Of course, I am more than happy to reciprocate, though I assume that most of you have already applied. But if there's anything I can do, let me know!

Finally complete and sent for review today (11/14) after sending my app in on Oct 31st. It took my undergrad FOREVER to get the ball rolling.

Sh@keNb@ke, do you happen to know how long it takes Stanford's status checker to say you were "complete" after your undergrad sent in the dean's form? Mine said they sent the form out on Thursday afternoon (east coast), which means Stanford should receive it by this afternoon at the latest... can I hope to see my application "complete" within the next day or two?

my school sent dean's cert end of business on day. got an email from stanford the next morning that they got it. logged onto status checker and it showed complete. so, its very fast.

Awesome. Perhaps there is hope for me being considered in the first wave of applicants after all.

I'm trying really hard not to freak out about how much I want to go to Stanford. So far, failing miserably.

My undergrad told me they sent mine out the day I applied, but after calling Stanford a week later they said they hadn't received anything. I don't know if they were being lazy or the form got lost in translation. I had my undergrad fax the form the second time around and after my undergrad called me and said they faxed the forum, I immediately called Stanford to let them know. The lady was really nice and looked through the faxed forms for me, said she found it, and within 10 minutes I was complete.

I'd say call Stanford tomorrow and tell them that you have been having a rough time with your undergrad and ask them if they have received the form yet. Hopefully that speeds things up a little bit, that is if your undergrad is being honest about when they sent it out.

How long did it take you guys to get a status checker email from Stanford? Submitted 11/7 and still haven't heard back.

Also, I filled out my Dean Cert. form at my undergrad. on 11/1. Anyone think sending the dean's cert BEFORE the app is presenting a problem? Plan on calling the office tomorrow.

I submitted 9/28 and got the link on 9/30.

hmm sitting on a full week now. A little worried I am losing any sort of advantage if my dean's cert got lost somewhere and they aren't evaluating my file without it.

I submitted 11/8 and got mine 11/10, even without the dean's cert (apparently my UG is taking its sweet time). My status is just "incomplete" because the dean's cert isn't in yet.
