Submit date?

And congrats!

Submitted way back in Oct, but didnt go complete until Jan. It took forever for my school to do that Dean's verification letter.

Congrats! When in Jan did you go complete if you dont mind me asking?

Thanks! Sorry my date has been changed to file under review 2/3, and I cant remember my complete date.

Thanks everyone! and I really think they are calling people randomly. It seems that I'm the only person on TLS reporting a call today so they must have done very few

I have a feeling that they might just be moving on to January submits... LSN doesn't actually show any January submits with decisions yet (and only two December submits with January completes who've gotten a decision).

First - congrats! :)

As for SLS going in order, I'm thinking more that they've made decisions on all the Sept-Dec completes for now (accept, reject, or unannounced hold), and at this point are dealing only with January completes, but not necessarily in order of date (in January) that they completed. Basically, here's our "old" pile that we're done looking at for now, and here's our "new" pile from which we will pluck awesome/lucky people to call every so often. That's my guess, anyway!

And no, sharktankdean, you weren't the only one. My heart jumped when I saw all the URM acceptances, and I briefly fretted after checking my phone and seeing no missed calls. It took me a second to realize Stanford is still doing people who were complete in January. Ugh. What are our lives?! SMH.

I know Dean Tom was realllyyyyyyyyy busy having phone sex with that chick at freakin 10:30 PM on Saturday but considering that phone call didn't even take place maybe he'll have time to call some of us!

So some of you may never believe I was called on a Saturday evening, but the proof doesn't really get more concrete than this lol......

and if anyone thinks I fabricated this picture you ppl are beyond help. See ya next fall!!!! :p

Yeah, after making all those wonderful remarks about me I wish those awesome members responded to my responding post. And I dont think that guy was aware of the concept of pacific time so it was more like 7:30PM actually. Sorry I'm not trying to hi-jack the thread.

It would have been great to get into Stanford today after my Michigan admit.

Alas...Condoleezza Rice nightmares will plague me for another day.

Well, congrats to the new admits.

Haven't heard a peep from SLS...I'm wondering if maybe they never received my app...or if they never received my dean letter? I'm pretty decided on Harvard, but it'd be nice to have somewhat of a choice. Ha.

Applied end of November.

Anyone similar situation?

Applied 11/04. Submitted for review 11/18. I haven't heard anything. I'm not exceedingly hopeful. Should I assume I'm heading for rejection?

Probably an "unspoken hold." I'm in the same boat. Basically it means more waiting, they just don't tell you this like some other schools do.

OK thanks. Does this mean we have somewhat of a chance? Or are we just headed towards a waitlist/reject?

There's no way of knowing with Stanford. Just keep waiting and hope for the best!

This gets mentioned every few pages, how Stanford seems to skip over people and leaves them without word for a while. The unspoken hold thing seems about correct as per the second blog post:

If we are in the 'soft' hold group, should we send in updated materials? E.g if we have more work experience a new resume, or a LOCI? Does SLS frown upon these things for cluttering their inbox, or is it a good thing to do?

According to past blog posts, Stanford likes updates as long as they're meaningful and add something to your file. If you have new work experience or updated grades or something like that, I'd definitely send it in.

Cool thanks, do you know if we would email a resume or send it via snail mail?

I just e-mailed the admissions office and addressed both my e-mail and LOCI to Dean Deal and the admissions committee. They e-mailed back the next morning, and I sent my initial e-mail the evening prior. I would hesitate to actually directly contant Dean Deal. That her e-mail isn't explicitly listed is probably for that reason.

That being the case, if I did make it to later in the cycle without a DLS, it would require courageous restraint on my part to not attempt contacting her directly.
