Re: Stanford c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Sorry, ned!
Still submitted for review here. I freak out and check my status every time someone reports a DLS. I think this process has taken a few years off of my life since Feb.
Hoping for more calls this week!!!

Maybe they're sending out the WL's now, and the huge ding wave will be later this week.eits wrote:Waitlisted via snail mail

Still nothing from S. They're the only school from which I haven't heard anything. Just got my Yale WL today.

Well here's what I know:
1) definitely rejected. I called.
2) not seriously considered by sls during April*
3) no reason they needed to wait this long
* I am a visual artist, so my PS links to a website with video of my work, which I discuss in my statement. When a school takes me seriously I can tell because they view my site. My website analytics can track who's viewing, what they are viewing, and when. I got lots of views from the bay area earlier in the cycle but not this month.

Good luck with any other schools you're waiting on.

Also DLS today. Also rejected (called as well). Was quite a ride since going complete over 6 months ago on 10/10 - have to wonder, though, how long they may have been sitting on my decision.

I don't think that long. If they were, wouldn't they just release all the WL/rejects at once instead of trickling them out?Mista Bojangles wrote:Also DLS today. Also rejected (called as well). I really need someone to get in this week. It would kill the theory that they are just separating the rest of us into the WL or rejection pile.

I honestly don't think I'll start freaking out until a urm gets a DLS. I'm not sure if there will be another wave but I do know that we are still being evaluated. If they were done with us we would have all gotten our respective decisions especially since there was a wave last week. It has to mean they looked at our apps put those who didnt get in last week aside. After they go thru the non-Urms. Dean deal is prob gonna see if there is space for some more. If not then its WL or rejection. At least that's my view

How is that possible with a 179/3.8?

Re: Stanford c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Not sure what to tell you. The 179 is a retake from a 173. My 3.8 is inflated a few hundredths by CC classes I took before college, but no other weaknesses I'm really aware of. Ivy UG, and I just finished up in the Israeli army, which I view as a strength but really is probably more like a wild card in that I have no idea how individual schools will view it. I felt I put together a strong app, and I got great money at all of CCN (including $90k at Chicago where I've deposited) which seems to preclude the possibility that I had any unforeseen weaknesses such as a LOR writer unexpectedly throwing me under the bus. So I'm not sure what to chalk it up to. Maybe H will still come through; I've been under review there for the same length of time (got held a few months back).jim-green wrote:How is that possible with a 179/3.8?
