Still nothing. I called admissions and they said they are trying to get out all decisions today, but it might take a little longer than that as well.

If they're in such a rush, wouldn't it make sense just to tell everyone waiting that they're waitlisted today, then figure out the approximate order later? Unless they're actually scraping through the pile for some more acceptances?

Or, they might be deciding between waitlists and rejections. I like your scenario better though
