So when do they accept people until? I know it's still pretty early, but I've already given up hope haha. It's weird hearing from H so early, and then getting silence for months from Y and S...

I actually think the majority of their decisions are made in April, if I read the application materials correctly.LaCumparsita wrote:So when do they accept people until? I think it's strictly true that most people hear in April, but that most of the people who hear then are waitlist/rejects. It's also clear, however, that a very small percentage of the acceptances have actually gone out, so no reason to give up yet.JoeMo wrote:I actually think the majority of their decisions are made in April, if I read the application materials correctly.LaCumparsita wrote:So when do they accept people until? If you look at the YLS Twitter, it looks like there is a trickle of acceptances throughout Jan, Feb, and March...and then the last batch come out in early April. I would assume the Dec-Jan acceptances are the so called "auto admits" and from then on out it's applications that have gone through the faculty review, which I would further assume is variable in its timing to completion.Elston Gunn wrote:I think it's strictly true that most people hear in April, but that most of the people who hear then are waitlist/rejects. For the academic awards section, did any of you put down that you were valedictorian/salutatorian of your high school? I only ask because Yale, like Columbia, asks where you went to high school and what your GPA/rank was there.

No. I didn't include anything about myself from high school. Although, I'm not K-JD so it's been over 10 years since I was in hs. I was fairly certain they wouldn't care.

Asha tweeted a while back about how she did want you to include high-school info. Along with a few other people, I had missed where it asked for that, but you might want to send it in anyway just in case.thelawschoolproject wrote:jd5 wrote:For the academic awards section, did any of you put down that you were valedictorian/salutatorian of your high school? Re: Yale c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
There was a problem with the application originally and it didn't ask for high school info, then it was corrected and that's when Asha tweeted about sending in updates... they didn't even want GPA or rank though, just the name of your school, location, and graduation year.doppelganger wrote:Asha tweeted a while back about how she did want you to include high-school info. It was titled "Hello from Yale Law School" which caused a half second heart attack.

it was nothing important - just a general "let me know if I can help you with your application or if you have any questions" type of thing.Doorkeeper wrote:No...vto35 wrote:anyone else get an email from a 1L last night?

I got a similar email except I'm already in. It was titled "YLS Admitted Students Buddy."vto35 wrote:it was nothing important - just a general "let me know if I can help you with your application or if you have any questions" type of thing.Doorkeeper wrote:No...vto35 wrote:anyone else get an email from a 1L last night?

Why would some applicants get this but not others? Determined by URM status or fee waiver, or some other not-related-to-a-decision criteria?vto35 wrote:it was nothing important - just a general "let me know if I can help you with your application or if you have any questions" type of thing.Doorkeeper wrote:No...vto35 wrote:anyone else get an email from a 1L last night?

seriously doubt it.doppelganger wrote:Maybe you all are already in, but have not been notified yet? Oh, the suspense.thederangedwang wrote:I also JUST received a similar email.
I'm asian so I got it from a 2L in some asian club. I think only minorities got the email, just like how only minorities got the letter awhile back telling us to apply.
Not a big deal...the email strongly emphasizes that they are simply being cordial and the subject is to get us to apply and help with the app process. Besides, I submitted early and like 4 rounds of acceptances have gone out already without me getting any joy..im pretty sure i'm not in yet.

Thanks for posting this, I really enjoyed that blog post, and really appreciate the transparency and truth Yale puts forth about what it looks for in its applicants and how it conducts its review process.igelchen wrote:http://blogs.law.yale.edu/blogs/admissi ... ation.aspxIf you're reading this post and realized that you didn't submit two academic references, mild to moderate panic would be appropriate.
Now, I just hope we see a few more acceptances trickle in soon!

I also sent four. I hope the letters are as positive as their authors were enthusiastic about writing them.
