Quite simply the most succinct, most complete summary of this thread to date.thederangedwang wrote:some people got in, a lot of people didnt, some people who applied early are still waitingadmisionquestion wrote:Can someone give me a brief update. I applied early and have not heard a thing (and thankfully have avoided following this thread until now).
According to the TLS stats that have been floating around for a while, early applicants have about 50% chance shot at a WL; of course, Asha regularly derides the TLS data as unrepresentative, so take it with a grain of salt.adam1 wrote:The chances of being admitted at this point with out a WL are very low and decreasing. Early applicants who have survived seem to have a fairly good shot at WL.admisionquestion wrote:I guess I am not familiar with the timeline of yale's admission process. Are things winding down at this point or are there still lots of seats?
When is the latest I will hear an initial decision accept/reject/wl decision?
Is it good news that I have not been rejected yet? (or some less stupid question).
Please someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Only because they can't possibly string this out much longer; the May 1 deposit deadlines are only three weeks away.cogitoergosum wrote:Fo realz?Twit wrote:
Which means, if history holds true, there are about 40 more admits that need to be called. My uninformed guess is that most of us will hear an initial decision on Friday, but it looks like in some past years people were receiving initial decisions as late as 4/25. Another two weeks would be awful.a.psu wrote:We've had crickets for days....
I'm just going to hope for this Friday. What makes me nervous is the trickle of admitted calls stopped...but then again not everyone is on TLS.PKozi wrote:My uninformed guess is that most of us will hear an initial decision on Friday, but it looks like in some past years people were receiving initial decisions as late as 4/25. Oh good to know! Sorry >.< I was judging off the posts here.wharever wrote:Two people were accepted on 4/9 per LSN.
Congratulations! When you gain access to the YLS Facebook group, you might want to check out some of their recorded webinar sessions with current students, etc. You can also download a PDF of the admitted students' binder from there while you wait for the hard copy.sb512 wrote:I was sure I wouldn't get accepted at this point, but I got the call at 4:49pm today! My application was completed Jan 11, 3.83/177. Good luck everyone! There's still hope!
OMG, I am so proud of my alum right now.. I think you break the record set by our neighborpoultry wrote:Just got the call. Unreal....

Wow Poultry, it's been a HUGE few days for you!
Also in as of 10pm! 173/3.87, URM, 2/16 submit, 2/29 complete.
If poultry submitted in November, they must be opening the gates to release us from Early Submitter Limbo. Let's hope good news awaits.poultry wrote:Yeah, pretty intense. I had a very weird cycle. The fact that YLS and SLS scheduled the ASW for the same week adds more stress. Now even the fact that New Haven is a cheaper city and I could afford to have a cat is marginally at play in this crazy decision making process....
Not that cats are important...just a taste of how boggled my mind is right now.
P.S. I submitted early Nov. 2011
