as an aside if ive been complete since january 13th and havent got rejected yet- is that a good sign or a bad sign?

It's a nothing sign, I think (though there are few good signs with Yale other than getting the call). I went complete pretty much about the same time and nobody with our rough complete dates has gotten dinged yet, so it's hard to say. Based on previous years, we're due for the second round of rejections either this week or next and I'd imagine it'll be mostly those who submitted in December/January/possibly very early Feb as well as a few other earlier submitters who went to faculty review but didn't make it. If we aren't rejected in the next wave, though, I'd imagine we're all in it for the long haul (presumably mid-April).

so the waiting continues... i guess with yale you accept any money at another school and just lose the 500$ deposit they force you to give because the deadlines are all around early april

OK so this little babe is the last school for whose decision I am waiting. Inner peace.

Anyone else who applied back in the fall (early Nov for me) still have radio silence? Got some great options if YLS doesn't pull through, so I'm not really stressing, but I'm mad curious.

Yikes I just got very nervous someone was reporting that more rejections were coming. Yes, there are a lot of us.

Quick question for those of you who were accepted (if we could brush aside modesty for a second...)

at the time when you were applying, or/and after you submitted your application,
what was your gut feeling? Did you have a particular hunch that you'd get in?

I've been reading Malcolm Gladwell's Blink and it's pretty fascinating to see how accurate one's "gut feeling" could be.
So I was just curious if any of you who were accepted had a particularly strong "gut feeling" (not just confidence or ego) that you'd get in.

I'm especially curious to hear from those of you whose LSAT and/or GPA were below Yale's median (3.9 / 173).

I was so convinced I wouldn't get in that I almost didn't apply... So glad I did now!

My GPA is at median and LSAT is slightly above, but I was worried that my softs wouldn't stand out enough.

from LSN...
2010: bloodbath March 18/19, with the last of the acceptances coming in the following days (most acceptances by end of March, two April 12/13)

2011: bloodbath March 17/18, followed by the last of the acceptances (last non-WL acceptance was April 8 )

2012??

These bloodbaths of which we speak - do they proceed by email or snail mail?

I believe it's snail mail. Just simple envelopes with dream-shattering news inside. My thought is that it could happen anytime today, tomorrow, or Friday.

Do they reject people based on their complete date? I only submitted in January.. I hope I can be rejected sooner than later... don't want to prolong the pain with feelings of hope :P

I think we are eligible for this round of rejections (I submitted in January as well)...they had a February rejection session that seemed to include people with a submit date through sometime in December

I submitted in late October... does the fact that I have not been rejected yet mean anything?

Yeah, I checked last year's LSN and it looked like Jan submits got rejected in March, but many got waitlisted/accepted in April. Maybe if you survive this round of rejects you have some hope? Although, it's not guaranteed as some got rejected in April too.

No idea...but my guess is that you're in for an April waitlist, just based on the info from LSN on last year's applicants who applied in October and hadn't heard by now.

Gosh, that's just how this cycle has been... I HATE WL's! But with Yale, I suppose I like the WL better than a rejection.

Thanks for the LSN sleuthery.

I'm praying for a Yale waitlist! I submitted first week of december. I feel like we wouldve been admitted already if that's where we were going, but we survived the first round of rejections and didn't get autorejected. So fingers crossed!

You might also just be in faculty review. Sometimes that process can be really drawn out from what I understand based on the fact that some readers are slow in turning things around.

Agreed, but that still means we didn't get auto-rejected. I definitely wasn't saying that I won't get rejected in the next round

Oh no, I just assumed you were saying that you were definitely getting waitlisted and I was saying that you have hope still if you're in FR. :D

Ooooo haha thank you! I am bracing myself for the ding that may be coming soon but it would be so amazing if you're right and I might still have a chance!
