LOL, they must have been frustrated at everyone letting the call go to voicemail. Good luck to everyone today!
Hahhaa - this cracks me up. You're already in! Just say - "thanks, that's such great news!" I feel like an idiot that Stanford couldn't get a hold of me. I hope the Dean doesn't think I ducted her call. I didn't get it! Nowhere on my phone. I think I'm technologically cursed. Either that or I am always deleting work emails and junk and might sometimes delete a call before it fully comes in.
Maybe they should start calling from a non-203 number just to get people to pick up.

But then again, if I got a call from non-203 number saying "you're in at Yale!" I would just assume that it's a prank call

Haha, let’s hope. A Yale acceptance will just put this week over the TOP! Such wishful thinking. But I don’t think it’s totally out of the question. Can’t wait to see who gets the call today.

I think annyong is most correct in his/her interpretation because there was no mention of choosing Yale as a requirement for the assignment of good.

And, mumofcad, I relate to your mention of family considerations and age. I hope the ideal option makes you a sweet offer.

Now, I shall commence to defiling my avatar with a red pom-poned hat
Human rights are the invention of twelfth and thirteenth Western European canon lawyers.
You, sir, are wrong. The concept was first realized by a group of toy dinosaurs led by a particularly vexing mauve dinosaur. Sarah Orne Jewette wrote extensively on this matter.

Hahaha, I know right....I was just hoping that one would bite before Christmas and then I'd just go there when I began the cycle, because I needed the jump start to get things in order. My poor husband. Ever since we got married, literally 2 days after, I've began dragging him around the world after me. He finally got settled and got to spend almost 2.5 years here and now to uproot him again for 3 years and then to move again....I owed him to at least not make it a last minute move with 3 young kids kwim? When a guy goes to Iraq for you in the middle of a civil war, a guy who had never left the US previously or lived abroad, you really owe him that consideration (yes, I have world's BEST husband, you can't even imagine).

Now.... I'm pretty set on where I'm going. I think I found the best situation for all of us, husband, kids, and school. That is no small miracle so it feels right. But I'm also in a little bit of shock so...

And you should def answer the call - super nice, friendly, and informative. He even mentioned my earlier tweets and hotmail issues  (I got a gmail account today btw - after my husband heard about the Michigan Darrow thing and THEN "The League" made fun of me and all hotmail retros last night for about half an hour, he sent me an email from work with an invite saying "Just like I'm not allowed to embarrass you on Facebook, you are no longer allowed to embarrass me with your hotmail account."

Hahaha no - I shared too much in my first post, because I was really clueless about how I should go about applying and people on TLS have GOOD memories. I needed help on how to focus my application as an older candidate, do you focus on undergrad achievements when they are 6 years old, etc? I originally had 2 schools on my list to apply to as well  I didn't even know what a soft was then really, but TLSers quickly taught me.

AS for softs, a couple prestigious scholarships, advanced degrees, I was a Div 1 athlete, some interesting work experience internationally, and 3 kids. I think the 3 kids under 4 deserves the most brownie points. If you want to know more, you can PM me. I think it mainly just impresses people because I'm older than alot of people on here so I've got a few more years of experience KWIM? I mean naturally alot of the younger people on here in 3 more years would have the same things to talk about. Nothing to write home about.

Congratulations MoC!! Excited to meet you!

Also for whoever was talking about autoadmits earlier...an extremely tiny number of people have gotten in so far, judging by the official facebook group. So there's just no way those are finished. (although as someone said, they may be done for 2011, but 2012 is gonna be good for TLS!)

[edited to ask whether any admits are interested in an "in at yale" thread? the S kids just started one]

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
