At this point, I'm just waiting for Yale to announce "Never mind, we don't need any new applicants...because we're Yale" and just not post the app...

Hahaha, yeah. Maybe they'll just ask Harvard to matriculate a class of 700 this year and then offer the top 250 chosen admittance to Yale too. Skip an unnecessary step.annyong wrote:At this point, I'm just waiting for Yale to announce "Never mind, we don't need any new applicants...because we're Yale" and just not post the app...

November 1st?!
Sweet lord. Does anyone know if this has ever happened before? I was really hoping to have all my apps completed by that day.

Deadline: February 15, 2012 Available: November 01, 2011
They have to put COMING SOON on the page, right?

When asked whether the app delay would delay decisions, they said only a week at the most.

Did y'all see this tweet?
"LSAC told us that they will have our application posted at midnight on Tuesday, 10/25 (Monday night). Thanks again for your patience!"

YLS is a different place. They treat life like an extended vacation over there. God bless 'em.

I strongly encourage those planning to submit their applications at midnight on Monday to drink heavily beforehand.thelawschoolproject wrote:

I'm out on the West Coast so I just saw it come available a minute ago.
P.S. Instead of a resume it asks for "activities and work."
"You may also include a résumé if you wish, but you must answer a, b, and c separately from any included résumé. Your application will not be considered complete unless a, b, and c are answered. Please list:
(a) Significant extracurricular activities in college (and after graduation), in order of their relative importance to you. Please estimate your time commitment for each activity.
(b) Self-support (employment) while in college and during vacations.
(c) Other activities in or out of school or work that you consider relevant."

Re: Yale c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Gah - the wording makes it sound like they would prefer that you not include a resume, and most of what people would include on a resume will be listed in the "activities and work" attachment, but there is no place to list employment after graduation.madvillain wrote:Instead of a resume it asks for "activities and work."

What are people with significant employment after college planning to do here? I guess the options are: (a) to add a resume - with a lot of repitition; or (b) list the work experience an "activity in or out of school or work that you consider relevant" on the acitivities and work attachment. Thoughts?

Submitted!
I just listed all my work experience under (b). I discussed it with my bf and we agreed they probably meant college + post-college. If not, they can deal with it.

So you didn't include a resume? "You may also include a résumé if you wish" sounds to me like politely-worded code for "we would prefer that you didn't" - but I wonder if I'm reading too much in to that.

I did also include a shortened one page resume, which only listed two jobs.

I think LSAC should limit the number of times you can preview your application. I hate how everything that seemed decent turns to crap just before submission - I literally spent 15 minutes wrestling over whether to say "in" or "on" something in my 250 this morning. Then, sanity resumed, and I realized that the difference between me getting in was probably not going to come down to a single letter. Sigh. Submitted.

This. And then I get paranoid that by focusing on little-little things I'm going to miss something bigger. ugh.MumofCad wrote:I think LSAC should limit the number of times you can preview your application.
