Agreed. Also, really confused by the semi-wave of emails this morning. You would think they'd have a larger group of decisions amassed by now..

I'm hoping for a massive wave of wait-lists and denials sent out at the end of the business day today. Well "hoping" isn't the right word, but I really just want to know.BaseballT wrote: Agreed. Congratulations to all of you who got in!
Is there anyone who was accepted despite having been rejected before? If so, how were you able to change the strength of your application? Re-take the LSAT?
I'd love to hear from those of you who persisted, and finally earned your way in!

You waited +6 months? Jeez.....YLS is probably the only graduate school in the U.S. where some applicants wait 6+ months to hear back haha.justinp wrote:176/3.83, submitted early November, still radio silence. Thinking waitlist probably?

Got a call from 203 tonight, freaked out, picked up the phone, and it was the pizza delivery guy.

Alright... Stats in profile, long story GPA, but conventional wisdom is that law schools don't care about long stories, right? So what am I supposed to make of the fact that they have been reviewing my app since late Oct./early Nov.?
I feel a peculiar combination of excitement and terror. I'm excited to think that maybe they do care about my long story, and see something in me, but I'm also terrified that as soon as I get hopeful they're going to be like, "you didn't SERIOUSLY think we were going to let you in, did you!? HAHAHA (evil laugh as Asha strokes that cat)."
Not to be too self-depricating - I've accomplished a lot, and I think I have made a strong case why they should believe in me (I am one more good month away from graduating #1 in a large class at a large school, interesting life experience, etc.) - but there's no getting around the fact that my GPA per LSAC is way sub-25th, right?
But they've been looking at my app for a LONG time... Should I start feeling cautiously optimistic, or is it likely that my app has just fallen between a desk and a wall or something?

Lol. There's a chance. But straight up how many gpas does Yale admit every year below 3.5. Single digits? Zero? But at the end of the day I think you should feel good. I know multiple people with your numbers who were auto rejected, as in no FR. You done good. Good luck.cogitoergosum wrote:Alright... So can I, but the Reject/Waitlist spectre has been in the air since March 1.kulshan wrote:I think that was a good bet. I can feel it in the air.thederangedwang wrote:I actually have 10 bucks on today in a bet with a friend...cmon Asha!kulshan wrote:We're overdue for waitlists. Is today the day?
Of course, given the absolutely absurdity this cycle has bordered on, I am willing to contend with the possibility that we have to put down May 1 deposits before we get our initial Yale response. Any takers on that one?

If you are w/led how will you handle finding housing wherever you deposit?
I'm wondering how people normally deal with this... I mean the people who get accepted after classes start!?! do they just break their lease?

Would you really change schools after classes start? I mean, Yale is awesome, but would you really jump ship at H or S and lose 3-7 days moving?admisionquestion wrote:If you are w/led how will you handle finding housing wherever you deposit?

Usually zero, but if any school isn't going to give a crap about LSDAS GPA vs. "real" GPA, it's Yale. So...good luck. I know your (cogito's) long story really sucks...I probably would explode if all that happened to me.adam1 wrote: Lol. There's a chance. Lowest admitted GPA last year was 3.65. Good luck.
