Question:

I sent an LOCI and an updated resume the same day we got the mysterious e-mail. I know that others on here heard back acknowledging that they sent in more material. I did not receive any kind of acknowledgement. Should I shoot out another e-mail confirming? Or would that be super annoying?

I would always politely follow up and confirm, especially since the office claims to have issues with their email server.

No, that's weird. I asked a question the day I got that email, got a response, and sent in a second essay later that week and received a receipt of them getting it the next day. I'd say you should email them again, just to make sure.

Seriously? Are you going to bother them like this EVERY TIME you email them something? If you're gonna freak out like this, do it on TLS. Don't annoy the admissions office like this. I thought we confirmed with 150% certainty that the email meant literally absolutely nothing, zilch, nada.

Too soon?

Meh. I also wouldn't worry about "worrying" adcomms. It's their job to respond to applicants. It's not going to affect your chances unless you call every day asking the same question.

LOL... as a major participant in that conversation, let's not start this again (even though you were clearly joking) and that's not along the same lines of what the conversation was about.

Hint: soj is making a joke referencing some past ~~drama~~ that went down ITT. I don't think he actually believes that an email would worry adcomms. (:

 I should've caught that given the poster but I have to admit I don't really read this thread anymore now that I am among the forgotten.

Whatever, I can post here as long as I want. And in the true Michigan spirit, I'll be laughing at your rejections wishing all you email naggers the best. ;)

I'm joking, you guys!!

no, seriously. Just poking some fun at the recent shitshows in this thread.

TITCR... and FWIW (even if you don't believe me) I was joking. And I didn't say all of your rejections, I said that one specifically.

I don't have any admissions materials to trade, but I do have a rousing thesis on number theory you are free to peruse. :-)
