Is it an all-or-nothing kind of deal or might you still receive a generous package even if you aren't able to attend Michigan for free??
Wait, so you received an initial merit aid offer, and then you were invited to apply for a Darrow??

I...have to go check my email.
I actually got the opposite impression--that he hasn't received any merit aid offer yet.
Yeah, looking at it again I can see how it might be read that way. Please enlighten us, amc!
Sorry y'all. I didn't mean to confuse anyone. I did not receive an initial merit offer. I just got accepted a week ago so I assumed that they were just taking a reasonable amount of time to assess merit-based money. Then I got the Darrow invite today via email. I was just concerned that if the whole Darrow thing doesn't work out-- which, let's be honest, it probably won't--I might not end up with scholarship money. So I was hoping that someone with experience on this matter might be able to clear that up...

Haha, no problem. You might want to check in the "Michigan students taking questions" thread.

Found out by checking my email early this morning and seeing a Darrow invite. Was absolutely thrilled but also a little confused! I didn’t receive my admit packet until later today and didn’t realize the ASW could update on weekends.

Very excited to visit Ann Arbor now (Dean Z seems so cool).

Congrats to everyone else with good news!
Congrats on the Darrow invite! Dates/stats? PM if you want :)

Just got a Darrow invite via email. Feeling a little overwhelmed. Anyone know what the chances are of getting it?

Spek, I would be more surprised if you didn't get it (or the hamilton, ruby, mordecai, etc)

I know, right? I'm fixating on all of the peccadilloes that might get me dinged, despite having >95% LSP chances: no thank you note for fee waiver? Not showing up to a prospective students conference I told them I'd go to? Writing a lackluster "Why Mich?"? A small correction I made to my application?

Oh, Michigan. How happy I'd be if you would just see fit to admit me!

I keep doing the same things ad nauseum, please save me from my misery, Dean Z!

Not to sound over-confident, but as far as I can tell on LSP/LSN I should be accepted with my numbers, which means if I get rejected there is something about my application that they don't like. It makes the rejection more personal and therefore more upsetting

Only two people on LSN have gotten in with an LSAT above 174. On the other side they have taken lots of people in the 168-169 range. It seems clear from this data that Michigan has made a conscious decision to focus on admitting people in the 168-174 range. Presumably these are the people who have matriculated in the past and they can better predict (protect?) their yield with appllicants in that LSAT range.

It also seems clear from the previous paragraph that I am searching for reasons why I have yet to be accepted :D

A unique variation of the first world problem. Tiago Splitter problem: LSAT too high.
