Michigan updates your status ?three? days after they send the acceptance/rejection. They want you to find out in the mail.thelawyler wrote:Same here. Finally I can now be obsessive about checking my status.Yeshia90 wrote:Finally got status checker. I'm complete.

Do they do this even for overseas applicants? Because...that is annoying.thelaststraw05 wrote:

Agreed. I'm overseas and don't know if I will be able to handle waiting 3 weeks for my decision to arrive (because I reeeeealy like UMich).80eight wrote:Do they do this even for overseas applicants? Because...that is annoying.thelaststraw05 wrote:

Sometimes they make exceptions. Two years ago, Dean Z e-mailed everyone they accepted on Christmas Eve because she knew they'd see the update over the holidays and not get the acceptance before, so assume the worst. I'd e-mail them and ask if you have a legitimate concern.80eight wrote:Do they do this even for overseas applicants? Because...that is annoying.thelaststraw05 wrote:

Do any students apply ED to Michigan straight out of undergrad? Michigan is my first choice but because of their Summer Start, I'm assuming they wouldn't be too keen on the idea of my starting law school two weeks after graduating college.

I ED'd straight out of UG. Was excited to get in - this is my second semester and I'm still excited from time to time - but moving up here within a week of graduating UG was a pain in the ass of truly epic proportions. I know a few other summer starters who came straight from undergrad; but, it seems like at least half of the summer starters did something between UG and law school.heptune wrote:Do any students apply ED to Michigan straight out of undergrad? Just got an email that my application has been accepted! Now, according to the admissions office, I just have to wait 3 to 4 weeks to be able to get my id for the status checker.... :/ 6 weeks from today and i should have an answer!

Would be it be best to send 3 LOR since Michigan "encourages" it. I have 2 ready to go, but the third may not be submitted until next week, possibly later. Do I ...
1) send the two I have and save the third for the waitlist
2) send the two I have and the third as soon as I get it (will they begin reviewing before the third gets to them?)
3) wait to submit until I have the third processed
Help would be appreciated! I'm 3.5/170, so I have borderline numbers.

However, ONLY send a third if you are confident that it will be good.
If you send a third submit your application now and send the third latter.

Don't despair if you don't hear back when a little wave comes out in November. I think most ED admits came out in early December last year.BuckinghamB wrote:+1ED Application complete Thursday. Looking forward to painstakingly waiting out this with y'all.

Hopefully there's going to be a little batch of ED admits in November like last year and we'll be in it! Seriously so nervous. Good luck!

Thanks. Will they review my application before the third is sent? I just assign the letter and LSAC will automatically send it, correct?

And I agree to just go ahead and send it all. I've never gotten the logic behind waiting for a WL THEN sending in a LOR to get off. If its good enough to get you off, its probably good enough to keep you from landing there in the first place IMO.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
