170, 4.0 non AA URM. Was accepted to Chicago last week. Could this be yield protect?

Yeah, it goes complete (and Under Committee Review); however, if you're using the status check app, you might not get these updates. Log on through the UVA website directly and it will be at the top of the page.

I'm thinking about trying to change my application to a binding one. Has anyone done this after they applied? Is it too late if I applied 12/27?

My status right now is complete and under consideration.

Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks

Not too late, just email them.

Complete since 12/13...guess that means I am part of the exception to the rule...is bad news coming?

I was complete a month before you and just got in last week. So not necessarily.

I am sure it will. I did not write a Why UVA, mention UVA at all in my apps, have ties to the state or area in general, and I have a very strong application. I think they were just prudent in putting the ball in my court to express whether I actually have a strong inclination to choose UVA over the other schools I'll likely be admitted to.

EDIT: for the record I do not plan on following up with an LOCI as I have already been admitted to a school which I would rather attend.

Just got waitlisted >175, 3.3x. I didn't write a Why X but as the cycle has progressed and I've learned more UVa has grown on me. Are they sincere when they see they plan to see a lot of movement from the waitlist or is this a soft rejection a la Columbia? Should I send an LOCI now or wait?

Also, are there any in-state applicants with reasonable #'s on the W-L?

I just got WL today by email and I've never been so thrilled about at WL. I figured I'd be auto-reject with my numbers. I applied just for the hell of it. I guess now I'll send in my new transcripts from grad school and an LOCI. I fit into response 1 on that weird WL email at least for the time being.

I'd be interested in this as well. Your post is pretty disheartening since your numbers are better than mine, so I guess I have a WL to look forward to.

I'd be shocked if you did not get in being from VA. I have a feeling UVA is struggling to keep up instate medians this year.

complete since 12/9...no movement, any thoughts? is it LOCI time?

If I wasn't offered any aid during the initial acceptance phone call or in the admitted student package, does that mean I'm not getting any?? Also, how were y'all told about your scholly offers?

Honestly, I'm still completely shocked that I got in, but I'm just wondering if I should keep my hopes up for $ or just plan on attending at sticker.
