I haven't posted in this thread before, but I ED UVA on 11/13 I believe it was. Heard back 2 days later and was waitlisted... Which I found strange. If they were going to reply so quickly, you'd think it'd be a yes or no, not a "maybe." I got into Georgetown since so I'm not too mad, but now I'm expected to wait until May before I hear back from UVA? Is it advisable to send them an email basically saying, "Look, I got into other schools I would love to go to, but if you guys accept me now I'll attend. Otherwise I'll withdraw." Or is that too bold?

I think you should send a LOCI including wording referring back to how it was your first choice before, it still is your first choice. If you do not know what a LOCI is, look on the personal statements (I believe?) part of TLS (and I don't mean the forum I mean just the site itself.) good luck!

You are officially the most confusing case to all. Is there anything on your app that is a negative? Do you have C&F issues? Is there perhaps a huge gap on your resume where you were not doing much?

These were the outright dings I could find remotely in that range. So it's not entirely unprecedented. Almost everything else was WL though, so I'd say there must be something fishy with that app.

Sorry about the bad news today, everyone. To give hope to those out there still waiting, I went complete on 12/15 and was admitted on 12/29 with 30k/year merit scholarship. My numbers are way too low for that...170/3.94 non-URM and non-resident. Looks like UVA doesn't follow any sort of regular process, so you never know what might happen....

Possible, I've kinda been expecting a WL personally... I didn't write a Why UVA? and I'm a non-resident, still UVA has been strange this year... not completely losing hope yet
