For those of you that have not heard from UVA and think that your numbers warrant some sort of attention, call them. I got an email this morning asking about my non-response to their earlier point of contact. Only....I had no idea.
I wish I had known that I got in 3 weeks ago.

Yes, that's the odd thing. I've been hassling them to no end with calls and emails. I am still intersted in UVA depending on the Scholarships. I can only imagine why there has been no word yet.bobbyh1919 wrote:Are you still considering UVA? Interested in this. When did you submit? I have been complete since 1/9, but that doesn't seem as long as some other people on here....pcwcecac wrote:For those of you that have not heard from UVA and think that your numbers warrant some sort of attention, call them. I just found out that I got in via phone. The admin vaguely mentioned finances during the call. Did your scholarship offer come via the admissions packet? I would negotiate the hell out of that.seahawk32 wrote:Anyone negotiated with UVa after receiving a scholly?

Congratulations on your acceptance. I was offered a scholarship during my initial acceptance phone call.pcwcecac wrote:I just found out that I got in via phone. Did anyone receive an email from UVa today verifying that they received your in-state registration and have determined that you do qual for in-state privileges? That has nothing to do with a decision, right?
My #s are really low for UVa but I'm from Charlottesville so who knows.

Thanks! I suspect they didn't give me money, but sounded like they were willing to adjust in response to my other offers.seahawk32 wrote:Congratulations on your acceptance. So, given that, I think you should definitely go for it!

Yes, that's a separate process. But it's good to be in-state =)adc1222 wrote:Did anyone receive an email from UVa today verifying that they received your in-state registration and have determined that you do qual for in-state privileges? That has nothing to do with a decision, right?

Waitlisted by email yesterday, out-of-state, not really surprised. Had almost forgotten about UVA due to the total silence on their end. Good luck to everyone still waiting to hear back.

Re: UVA c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Went complete late-December-ish. (OOS, competitive numbers, but did not write why UVA although I love C-ville). Getting ready to book tickets for a trip to the east coast to visit some other schools and would like to visit UVA on the same trip.
It's time to send an email to the Office of Admissions, yes?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Would it be bad to mention visiting other schools?
Edit: for brevity.

Just called UVA admissions and spoke with a counselor. Apparently, there is huge decision wave coming out this week. Hold on to your butts!

if u submit a why uva statement just make sure not to write, "why not?" in really big font, and end the essay there. they don't like this as much as one would think.kennethellenparcell wrote:Wish I could hold on to my butt with you guys but UVA moved me into waitlist city this week. But nah I'm pretty sure I'm going to withdraw. I don't think UVA is the best fit for me and it's probably likely that came across in my app. I mean, I adore a nice southern gentleman but bros are not really my thing.

Re: UVA c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
I applied 1/6 and have heard crickets since then from UVA. Sent an email to them last week to check in, and got a vague reply that they had my application and are working on it. I was really psyched for UVA, but at this point I'm in to Northwestern and Duke, and I'm getting ready to commit to where I'm going.
For people admitted: does the scholarship info come with the offer, or is it a separate process?

INNNN!!!! So, so, SO excited! I was WL'd but took the February LSAT, brought my score up to 170 and Anne Richards just called to say she would be putting my admit package in the mail
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
