Just had my second UR today (2/17). Last one was 1/27. Was 2nd UR the one indicating a decision?

From the Penn Law TLS Profile:tadlbb wrote:3.7/168 WL today. I read back about 10 pages and didn't see anything about how optimistic I should be. Do they generally take lots off of the WL?
Hate to dash your hopes but unless you're URM your chances are pretty much nil.tadlbb wrote:3.7/168 WL today. I read back about 10 pages and didn't see anything about how optimistic I should be. Do they generally take lots off of the WL?
Thank you! I really appreciate it. I didn't see that somehow in the profile.QueMellow wrote:From the Penn Law TLS Profile:tadlbb wrote:3.7/168 WL today. I read back about 10 pages and didn't see anything about how optimistic I should be. Do they generally take lots off of the WL?
The law school also admits a significant number of waitlisted applicants each year: 30 to 40 out of a pool of several hundred. Waitlist review begins in May, and candidates are sometimes accepted late into the summer. The committee invites waitlisted candidates to remain in contact and even submit additional materials, including extra letters of recommendation, new grades, and updated resumes.
Good news, homie. Best of luck.
Nah I definitely appreciate the honesty. Where did you find this? I'd love to read more. I was pretty excited about the waitlist.Nelson wrote:Hate to dash your hopes but unless you're URM your chances are pretty much nil.tadlbb wrote:3.7/168 WL today. He's below both medians. If he really wants Penn he should be using the time to study for a retake. A couple more points would put him in a strong positionqwerty7676 wrote:tadlbb wrote:Nah I definitely appreciate the honesty. Where did you find this? I'd love to read more. Nelson doesn't cite sources. He just uses his vast stores of pretentiousness to tell other people they're not good enough.
Ignore him. You have a shot! This year has been unusual, with so many fewer applicants. They'll get to May and look at how many people they have, and I predict that they will pull quite a few from the waitlist. Send a LOCI and keep checking back. If this is something you really want, you have nothing to lose! Don 't let anyone else tell you otherwise!
Just going off LSN for the past few cycles, almost no one has gotten in with a 168 and a submedian GPA. Most were straight dings and the few waitlists I found were not picked up. You're considerably below both medians. I would send a LOCI and ride the WL, but I wouldn't expect much.tadlbb wrote:Nah I definitely appreciate the honesty. Where did you find this? Fewer applicants doesn't mean Penn's LSAT media is going down. LSN is all we really have to go on, and LSN tells us that Penn doesn't take 168s with submedian GPAs.qwerty7676 wrote:Nelson doesn't cite sources. bump. also, would an lsat retake in june be helpful? i have a 170 and 3.7, URM. Feel like I could get the LSAT up a few points with additional practiceGeneva wrote:How about sending a LOCI/resume updates while still UR?
