Hm yeah I remember reading your post about that...any predictions about whether that meeting is finalizing ED candidates, or starting the first batch of RDs?iamrobk wrote:Dean Post told me yesterday that the adcomm is meeting today, but that I'd probably hear early next week, so make of that what you will. Well she said there was a very slight chance I'd hear today, but not to feel discouraged if I don't (or something like that). Not sure if that means they're finishing up the ED people and I'm just back at the end of the ED apps, or if all they're doing today is reviewing apps and not actually notifying anyone unless they finish ahead of schedule.curiousgeorgia wrote:Hm yeah I remember reading your post about that...any predictions about whether that meeting is finalizing ED candidates, or starting the first batch of RDs?iamrobk wrote:Dean Post told me yesterday that the adcomm is meeting today, but that I'd probably hear early next week, so make of that what you will. Seems to take a long time, maybe because of EDs? I was complete on 10/19 just went UR 12/14 lol - RDcrumpledq wrote:Same here...Penn, why do you keep me in the queue?msblaw89 wrote:Still complete at 11/04...WOOOOOOW

I think they're just slow. I went complete in late September, but didn't go UR until just before Thanksgiving. 2 months seems to be pretty standard.rotaxkarter wrote:Seems to take a long time, maybe because of EDs? I've been thinking that too, maybe they just had a lot more ED applicants this year than in recent years. Combine that with the recent computer crash and I can kind of understand why it's taken almost a week for them to notify all ED people (since some people still haven't heard).rotaxkarter wrote:Seems to take a long time, maybe because of EDs? Re: Penn c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Does anyone have any idea how quick the turnaround is for RD applicants? I think it would be ridiculous for people who submitted Sept. to not find out until January... Heaven forbid those who applied late OCt ( myself included) not hearing back until February or March

Are you even under review? I submitted late October and I'm not.msblaw89 wrote:Does anyone have any idea how quick the turnaround is for RD applicants? Re: Penn c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
There seemed to be a huge batch of people admitted in late December and early January. I've had 1-2 week turnarounds from UR --> Accepted with other, similar schools. That could still leave time for early-mid January acceptances for us.msblaw89 wrote:NO! That's why I'm concernedaddy11 wrote:Are you even under review? I hope you're right addy, I've given up hope of hearing back from anywhere else before new years, but getting a decision in January would be nice. Another thing to keep in mind is that we (well, I) don't really know how the review process works. It's possible that some sort of preliminary review is done while completing the files, and then a more thorough review is done when the status changes to "under review". Or i could be totally wrong and just hoping that that's the case because I want to hear back haha, guess we'll see

Re: Penn c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
The status checker says within 12 weeks from your complete date, so I'm assuming anyone complete in September will be hearing this week or next. I would guess that a lot of those who've gone under review already would be in that first batch too. Penn lets in a bunch of RDs in December every year, and I doubt they're all people who went complete in September.msblaw89 wrote:Does anyone have any idea how quick the turnaround is for RD applicants? From stalking last years thread--it looks like a lot of people didn't go under review till around 12/15 and were still accepted before xmas (12/21 and 12/22) so we might see some remarkably fast turn around...

I hope you are right, you are keeping up my spirits. But I am pessimistic, it's 12-15 now and I am not UR since I went complete on 10-31.jetissent wrote:From stalking last years thread--it looks like a lot of people didn't go under review till around 12/15 and were still accepted before xmas (12/21 and 12/22) so we might see some remarkably fast turn around...

Yeah I am sitting at complete on 11/7. I checked because the massive acceptances on the decision chart in the third week of dec didn't make sense to me if people who submitted in oct aren't even UR yet--but apparently its possible. Also sorting LSN apps from last year by submit date revealed several who submitted early nov and got responses in the first batch.
I have too much downtime at work. I hope my boss never realizes this fact.

Man... a Penn acceptance would be so money to have over Christmas. My family thinks that Penn = Harvard >> everywhere else.

From a few posts on here and someone on LSN, looks like they may have sent out a few more rejection mails today, no acceptances (or deferrals) that I can see though. I guess it was a good thing when Dean Post said there was a very small chance I would hear back today.

I bet you're in. They probably just have to get in a room so the dean can tell everyone how cool you sounded on the phone.iamrobk wrote:From a few posts on here and someone on LSN, looks like they may have sent out a few more rejection mails today, no acceptances (or deferrals) that I can see though.
